"It uses a nano-SIM, you can get that at any phone or tech store. And I'm happy to help set up and programming once you do. It's just an electric watch until then." handing it back over, Sim removed and offered on the side.

"It will work on Wifi, if anyone has it - and it can still call 911 which is standard. And the GPS maps will work, but won't update. Basically anythign you can do without signal."

A slow nod.

"Thank you Sy."

"I owe you one."

"Hey, I don't like anyone spying on my lodge except me.."

Grin. "Fair."

"One thing I noticed in the contacts - there's an entry for this lady, but also for a general house number. What if you blocked her mobile, and locked incoming and outgoing calls to just the contacts other then hers? He can still call there and ask for her, but she can't call him - not privately. Maybe that helps."

"Maybe..."

"Blocking private calls from here is important."

"She'll twist him all up, for sure."

"Hm." He takes a minute more to install a parental restriction app onto the device, and shows Dagmar how to configure, and set her phone as authorized to track the GPS. "Now only the contacts programmed in will work, IN or OUT. It still needs a sim card and plan though, or it's incommunicado."

"You can change what's on there. Or the chief can - but it sounds like maybe Knight-Squire overrules Warder-Wardee?"

"Not really sure..."

"We have oaths, so that makes a difference?"

A nod. "You'd know best. Trolls and oaths and all."

"If I give an order... well, I don't think he'd be abel to break it on accident, he'd feel it."

"Ugh." A glance up. "No offense."

"Yeah, I'd prefer not to stick him in a tough position."

"Someone did that already, you're the one bending over backwards to help him out of it." He points out.

"He's my responsibility."

and then snorts.

"Isn't that what we're preventing?"

"Oh - hey!" Snerk.

Ann Marie calls down, "Sam, honey, can I offer you a ride home?" Politely reminding her that it's getting late.

Sigh. "Thanks, Ann-Marie!"

"Thanks Sy - you're a lifesaver." She collects the phone and nods at the tupperware. "That's Tove meatloaf from June. It got lost in the back of the fridge."

"Niiiiiice."

"Oh, tell the kid thanks for the bugs. I could use a small rodent if he finds any. Lovecraft has cleaned us out."

"It's either edible or it's developed sentience."

She starts up the stairs. "You should come over and hag out sometime! We can play video games."

"You got it."
