"Hi, this is Sylvi Davidson, Kerri Davidson's daughter. I was wondering if I could speak with Mr. Hayes?"

Yup, Sylvi's not above name dropping.

"Oh! One moment, I'll see if he's available"

Hold music plays.. 'We Built this City'

Sylvi grins and says quietly to Piper, "I'm on hold."

A grin and she does a little tip-toeing dance to the tinny music she overhears.

Then "Dunwood Hayes here." That's the guy

A grin at the dancing, and a little head-bop, but then she gets serious again. "Mr. Hayes, hi. This is Sylvi Davidson. I just heard about a situation that's kind of upsetting, and I was hoping that maybe you'd have a few minutes to talk? I could come over...."

"What's the situation young lady? Your mother need a she-shed?"

"Oh, she'd probably really like that, now that you mention it," Sylvi says brightly but rolls her eyes at Piper. "No, sir, it's an interpersonal issue, and I'd just like to try to help sort it out, if you'll let me? But I'd really like to talk about it in person."

"Well, fine.. I have an opening in the next hour. Can you be here in 20 minutes?"

"Sure can! It's the address in your ad?"

"Yeah, that's how it works at Hayes! We tell it like it is." A beat "Except for some of the pooka"

"Oh. Ha, yes! Okay...um...be right there. Oh, there might be two of us, see you in a few." And she hangs up before he can argue about the additional person.

"Okay, gotta get there in 20 minutes. Wanna come with?"

"Sounds like a plan! Did you want to invite Rikki along? She said she was okay with me helping try to smooth it over. But... she can be hard to decipher, alittle. Might be better to have her apologize in person, another time... maybe, after..."

"That's what I'm thinking. I don't want him to feel like it's a surprise attack or something. Talk him into hearing the apology first, then do the actual apology another time. C'mon."

She heads out, pausing a moment to lock the door, and then grin, jinging the keys at Sylvi. "MY Keys. Daaaaaaaaym."

"So jelly!"

And the girls are off at a jog to Hayes Construction's offices.

It takes a bit but they do get to it under the wire.

And in through the front door....

And ready to broach the beast! With her best smile...

The receptionist looks up, a kinian, but enchanted "Hello, you two. He's in his office" She gestures

Sylvi says "Thank you!" brightly from behind her mask with a snapdragon pattern on the cloth, trying to indicate a smile in her tone.

"Lovely mask" the woman says and opens the door "Uncle, they're here"

"Gotta hook me up." She whispers over to Sylvi through her own paisley bandana mask.

"Sure!" she says back to Piper, then enters the office, making a mental note that the receptionist is a niece.

"Hello, Mr. Hayes. Thanks for making the time, I'm sure you're busy."

"Have you met Piper?"

"I am I am," he says "And don't believe I have"

He wears his own mask...rather 'western cowboy ' look

"I haven't had the pleasure. " Offering a hand.

"She's a Wayburton cousin. Piper, Mr. Hayes and his family have been a backbone of construction among the fae around here."

He shakes it, "Wayburtons, a wild bunch but not so bad" he nods

"Then I'm extra pleased to meet you. It can't always be easy building to spec for so many different needs - troll height, hoof-resistant flooring and tiles, you name it." She sounds impressed.

"Oh we know our work " He nods puffed up a bit "Though for satyrs they seem more interested in acoustics than hoof resisttant flooring"

"Right, I've heard it called 'tuning a room' or something? Sounds complicated."

"Definitely! I was just playing in Fenix a few days earlier, and everything there was Adobo or brick. Lovely space but you had to account for the porous rock that kinda... swallowed the deep notes?"

"Yikes." Then she takes a breath. "Mr. Hayes, I wanted to talk to you about a construction project."

She quiets as Sylvi works her emissary magic - a glance at Mr. Hayes - does he wear a hat?

He does

"It's actually a project I think you were already considering, but a social factor got in the way. Now, I know that you really want to be able to do your best work, and I want to see if I can find a way to make that happen."

"young lady, you sound like you're about to sell me ice in the yukon here" He says suspiciously

"Maybe ice cream?" A smile - should be visible by her eyes crinkling a bit.

"That's not my intent, sir. I think there's a problem and I really want to help fix it. If I can."

"See, Piper lives at the apartments, the...what's their name again, Piper?"

An amused look at Piper, then he frowns "The Aparments? The ones with.. oh this is about the pool" A snort

"Bacchus Arms Reach. I just moved in, in fact."

"Yes well, young lady, the Super there knows my price."
