Adam leads the way through the apartment building to lurk briefly outside the door he remembers.

They approach the apartment complex and then enter, and head towards the door to the sisters. However in the hallway, they see ...

Symon follows along, hands shoved in his pockets, trying to replay the events to figure out how he ended up here...

Osborn Dyer, the big bear of a man (And pooka blooded) Sees them, and smiles "Adam? Adam Thomas, how are you? Who is your friend?"

Adam remembers helping Rikki's dad.

He grins. "Hey! Hi, Mr., uh, Dyer! This is Symon. Doin' good, how're you? How's Ricki?"

"Oh, probably getting in trouble. Love her like my daughter, which.. so happens to be the case. I think she's a bit stir crazy. Hope she doesn't get my ass fired" he chuckles and turns "Nice to meet you, Symon"

A bit of a nod, sinking further into his hoodie. Is this guy gonna try to hug them? He looks like a hugger...

No hug, but a pat pat on Symon's shoulder "Is it Rikki you came to see?"

"Uh... is she home?"

"She's somewhere in the building. I asked her not to go out with out telling me, and what offspring goes places that their loving father told them not to?" A deep rumble "Down that way last I saw her" He points down a hallway "And up one floor"

"Thank you. We'll, uh, look for her on our patrol." He nods. "Right, Symon?"

A nod.

"Patrol?" he says "So you two are the ones the lodge sent? Well, if the Chief thinks you're up to it. " he scrathes his chin "I was worried it would be dangerous... but she must know the risks. Follow me. I'll take you to the problem"

A glance to Adam, eyes widening a touch.

Adam seems frustrated, stuck. "Well, no, Mr. Dyer. I mean, the Chief didn't send us but I -do- patrol around here. Once in a while. What's the problem?"

"Shaft Shark" he says guiding the boys by the shoulders "I mean, I'm the super, but I don't have a cape. So.. I didn't want Tikki to fight it alone"

"Uh, we're not really geared up to fight, Mr. Dyer. You really should wait till the Chief's guy gets here."

"I wonder if it's Dirk." He mutters, thoughtfully.

"Shouldn't you, like, have maintenance to deal with that? Like, call your landlord."

"Oh, well, when you said you were on patrol... I figured it was..well, a Patrol" They have come to Tikki standing before a secondary elevator that has a tape across it that says closed.

Tikki turns and looks surprised "The Lodge clearly has a lot of faith in my abilities"

'False alarm, son. They're ah.. patrolling not patroling" His father says "I guess? "

Symon looks slightly less than enthused at the sight of the pooka. Or maybe at the situation. It's hard to tell.

The pony tailed Mongoose pooka blinks "You're... patrolling for moral support?" He says

Something bangs against the elevator door and there is an odd smuck pop sound now and then.

"-I'm- not patrolling at all."

"Well, we weren't -sent- here." Adam 'clarifies.'

Tikki nods, "I am honored by your trust in my abilities" he turns to the elevator, and takes a breath "Dad? If I don't make it, tell sis.. she still doesn't get my stuff"

"Uh....."

Mr. Dyer frowns, "Son, I FORBID you to release a Shaft Shark early because it might get out eventually and kill us all. I know you've been practicing your sharknado kick, but you need to wait until the request from the lodge for heroes comes in."

A blush on the teenage pooka's face as his eagerness to practice his Sharknado kick is revealed.

Adam looks at Symon, and back down the hall with frustration. Back to Symon. "Ok, can you make with the magic, I'll hit it with my stick, and we, uh, go back to what we were doing?"

Symon edges over to Adam and whispers for his ears alone, "Why are we doing this? It's not our job. It's not even part of the lodge."

" 'Cause we can?"

"Better go on in case it breaks out," Mr. Dyer says to Symon and Adam "I think my son and I may get stuck with the deboning unless that help arrives soon."

A frown, and he mutters back, "Well, I guess I owe -you-." A glance at the door. "But I don't know what you expect me to do against a shark."

Adam regards the elevator doors. "Ok, so... what? We pry the doors open and it jumps out and we kill it?" He outlines a rough 'plan'.

"Wish I thought of that," Tikki says nodding.

BANG! And through the slit of the elevator doors, a chimeric Shark fin..which begins to wiggle. It's prying itself out

Symon slinks closer to the shaft entryway, but flattens himself against the wall. If it comes out, it will burst outward, he figures, and this is the safest place. Reaching over, he gives a quick slash at the fin with his small pocketknife. Maybe it will run off!

Adam grins at Symon. "I guess if anyone's got magic that'll help, you can get it ready and.... ok, so, Tikki when you're ready, pop that bitch open."

A slash.. and a shallow cut.. at least a nick.

Adam goes en guard (Symon -might- recognize Dagmar's style) and waits.

And the shark draws back, then bangs forward again...

And Tikkie strikes forward with a finger to ..open the elevator.

The Shaft Shark leaps out! There are suction cup like things on it's tail end and fins! The better to climb the elevator shafts that are it's natural habitat, an evolutionary advantage over the more traditional Land Shark.

Adam strikes with his staff! "HA!" he challenges the thing.

Symon sinks back against the wall, calling up what small shadows he can find in the area to hide himself, though his eyes glow an eerie green as he looks at the Shark for any weaknesses...
