Adam leads the applause after!

Piper gives Adam a little squeeze. "Not bad, hm?"

Though, she's eyeing that singing troll speculatively.

"Naw, that was fun!" He gives her a kiss.l, then notices her attention. "Uh. You want this to be a time when we are free agents?"

"Hm?" Then she realizes her attention has strayed, and turns back to Adam with a somewhat sheepish grin. "You can't blame me for checkin' out the LUNGS on that troll... wow." Clear appreciation in her voice, but now evident that she was interested in the sound and not the substance.

Her attention back on her dance partner, she takes his hands and gives them a squeeze. "What do YOU want? There are a lot of new friends to make, and we can always find each other if it's a room full of duds." Her gaze drifts over the two ladies Zane was dancing with together before he started singing, and grins back up at Adam.

"I.... dunno. You're fun to hang out with, and, uh, I'm kinda not supposed to talk to Fae who don't talk to me first. " a teen eye-roll.

She snorts. "Eff that. You've proven yourself several times over and now you have an entire fae family to vouch for you. I say, put yourself out there. What's the worst that could happen?"

"What's the worst the Chief could do to me?" An honest question.

For a moment she looks dismissive - then thoughtful - and for a moment, haunted. "You know, let's just dance." She suddenly pulls him forward a few steps back towards the middle of the dance floor, and calls over to Zane, "Let's get something with a beat!"

Adam is fine going along with this!

Zane gives a thumbs up and that is what they get!

Adam follows Paper's lead in this, as slow and close, or as fast and energetic, as she likes.

Sylvi laughs breathlessly after the song winds down, looking again at the two vocalists, then back to Colton. A moment's deliberation. "Okay...so...full disclosure?" she says, though she has to raise her voice so he can hear her over the new pounding beat that Zane has turned up.

"Yes?" Colton says

"Spencer, over there?" She points him out. "He was my first boyfriend." She says it lightly, but watches his reaction.

"Huh" He says , "I knew you had a boyfriend before. But wasn't sure who it was. Nice guy?"

"Yeah. It was...we were childlings." She shrugs.

"AH, puppy love" He nods

"Yeah." A grin, and another glance at Spencer, but then she focuses on dancing with Colton, losing herself in the beat of the music.

Colton quirks his head, but whatever he's thinking he doesn't share, instead moving with her and dancing

The music shifts again, and then... "May I have this next dance?" The voice she's been admiring says behind Sylvi

Eyes wide a moment, then she turns to look. "Uh...hey, Spencer." A shaky smile. Then a glance back at Colton: Okay?

Colton gives a brieff, very slight frown, then takes a breath and says "Up to you, Sylvi"

"Just one," she says to Colton, a promise. Then she says, "Spencer, this is Sir Colton. My boyfriend."

"I've heard, he's kind of a legend" Spencer holds out a hand to shake

Meanwhile, Piper is getting deep down with the new heavy beat, pressing against Adam and letting it carry them both along with it, trusting the thumping rhythm and rhythm of their bodies to carry away the unpleasant thoughts.

Colton seems surprised by that, but takes it and shakes it "Legend? Ah think you have me confused with someone else."

A smile at Spencer's comment. "I don't think he's confused at all, Colton. Okay...one dance." She lets Spencer lead her away.

Spencer pulls her away, and they dance. He's good, possibly better than Colton at dancing, "You just keep getting more lovely every year. It's amazing"

Oh hell yes, Adam LIKES this idea!!

"Thanks," she smiles, blushing slightly with pleasure at the compliment as they dance, though not as close as she was dancing with Colton. "And your singing is...wow! You've been practicing with Zane a lot?"

Let the beat go on!!

"More Torin than Zane, Zane's okay, but as satyrs go he's outclassed by a lot of his kith. He's better and playing than singing, and he's got a great ear for quality, but it's Torin Torad who 's been shaping me up. I think folks forget he's Skald old school. I mix in the modern stuff though, sometimes I worry I'm not as good at that..." A smile "Guess I worry too much?" His hand doesn't go anywhere it shouldn't, but it is still.. there and...it feels nice as his eyes gaze at her

"Totally worry too much. People were impressed." She nods at the crowd around them. "And you don't have to be best at everything. You're amazing at what you do." Another smile, and she briefly meets that gaze, but then looks away as they continue to dance.

"So, I'd have to be a real cad to try to steal you away from Colton huh?" He asks as the continue

A startled look, and she loses the rhythm for a few moments. "Oh. Spencer, I..." She's not smiling. "You're...joking, right?"

"Not really no," He admits "You and I were first, we broke up because I was still a kid. I'm not a kid anymore, and..neither are you. Let me ask you, are you still attracted to me? If not, just say so and that..solves a lot of things."

A deep (and somewhat shaky) breath as she finds the rhythm of the dance again. "Spence...of course you're attractive. You've always been handsome, and you still are. And...your voice..." She trails off a moment. "But...I'm with Colton. I'm in love with Colton," she emphasizes.

A frown "Yeah, but you loved me too. So..."

"Spencer...." A pause, and then a bit lighter. "I mean, surely you've been dating somebody, right?"

"not really..excuse me" Stung looking he says "I think the song's over. Pardon me." and he strides off before the last notes die

Leaving her on the dance floor, stunned and disturbed.

Surprisingly it's Gerd who moves to her first "hey, you okay?"

Adam has slipped his arms around Piper to hold her close as they move together, and if the music stops.... doesn't mean they have to!

"I...um..." Sylvi blinks a couple of times, then refocuses on Gerd. "Yeah. Yeah, sure. I'm fine." Cheer smile. "So, um, you having fun?"

"If I admit it, it'll just enable you," Gerd states, but with a touch of a smile, then more serious "Okay, if your'e sure.Things looked a bit tense there."

"It's fine," Sylvi insists, though the glance after Spencer might betray otherwise. "I just...well...." An uncomfortable shrug. "You know."

"Men are awful and can't take no as an answer?" Gerd guesses

Colton is approaching

The music is back to mixed tape stuff, which means one song leads into another. Piper and Adam can keep on dancing! And... more than a few other party goers grin at them. Piper's fun, and Adam is good looking!
