"Up and At'em, Adam" Nabuni says

"Mmmm...." the muzzy teen pulls the pillow over his head.

"Hey, I agree, in a perfect world School wouldn't start till 10 earliest. but.." Tiny footsteps on the pillow that covers his head and then she starts to jump "You.Need.To.Get.Up."

A groan...

Bounce Bounce Bounce.

"Nab?"

"Yes?" she says

Another groan. "Ok, ok, ok....."

The bouncing stops as she moves to the headboard "He lives!"

She's a lot less sexy like this.

A last groan and he heaves himself up to sit.

"Rise and shine. Well, rise anyway. "

He rubs a hand over his face and slides his feet to the floor. "How come you're an alarm clock now? I was dreaming...." grumpy.

"Because your enchantment is going to wear off soon and you won't be able to fight the bad chimera"

He shuffles off to the bathroom.

It takes a while.

Yeah.

Nabuni sighs and counts to herself, wondering if it will sink in, "10.. 9.. 8... 7..."

Adam returns. "Wait, how do you know the juice is drying up?"

"I can feel it. You want to save your mom while you can still wield that staff?"

His dad had gone early this morning, he knew that.

Rescue mom? What the heck?

"What!?!? Mom??"

"TRIED to tell you... grab your staff. I'll go get help. Go"

He grabs it and thunders down. "Mom?!?!?!"

He hears a simpering sound, a fearful whimpering from the kitchen. As he charges in, he sees his mother curled in a fetal position on the floor where an eight legged spider like creature with a skull head and fangs pokes at her with sharp legs. It's the size of a large dog. and clacks and clicks between words, "yes yes...your children taken from you...gone forever... dangerous world..dangerous... "

Adam doesn't hesitate... He lays into it with his stick!!

He strikes it hard, scattering it away from his mother. It squees and sputters "Feeding here!"

"NO YOU AREN'T!!!" Adam doesn't let up, or realize the tears forming in his eyes. "GET OUT OR DIE!!! I'LL KILL YOU!!!!"

It leaps at his face, and...

goes right through him, and through the staff which he was getting ready to use again and again...

but the staff too, falls through his hands.

THROUGH them, like he was a ghost

"AARGGGGHHHH!!!!!" Adam resorts to flailing and then batting at nothing with his hands.

The creature bites at him, to no avail, and Adam's blows strike only the kitchen floor.

"You aren't real anymore" the Chimera observes, "Which means.. I can finish my meal" It scuttles over to his mother

Indeed, it moves slowly

Adam grabs his mom and hauls on her, trying to get her moving. "MOM!!! COME ON!!!!"

She lays there like a limp sack, and the thing scuttles up at a faster pace "No no no... no rescue, no safety. Your boy is gone. Your girl? gone..."

"m..my babies.." His mother stirs only enough to begin to panic in her sleep all over again.

"MOM, I'M RIGHT HERE!! I'M HERE AND NOT LEAVING!!" He weeps.

The door breaks open...

"GET AWAY OR I'LL TELL MY FRIENDS ABOUT YOU!!" He howls at the chimera.

"out of the way, retard," A familiar and unpleasant voice declares

Adam turns, still ready for battle.... then moves out of the way while still shielding his mother.

It's a good thing he moved aside with his mom because he almost got elbow checked again to get to the side as Dirk, carrying a morning star, slams the weapon down on the spider skull thing crushing one of it's legs. It had already been hurt by Adam's first and only blow to land, but this really hurts it. The thing screams "I want her fear"

"Who doesn't?" The redcap snarls back "But that ain't happenin."

The skull lunges like a crazed jackal, biting at the Redcap's thigh.Causing Dirk to grimace in pain. Dirk reacts by flipping it over on its backside with weapon, catching it off guard.

The cap looks a bit sweaty and pale, like he's got a fever, but he ignores it..."You bit me? HEY, fair's fair..." And as the nightmare chimera tries to twist back upright, the nightmare kithain PINS it, and bites a leg off. "That's one"

The creature kicks with it's ohter sharp legs, scratching the redcap's face, but he just grins and bites again CHOMP "Two!"
