There is a small bank... 6 machines on one table. And there's the 3-D printer, too!

He almost heaves a sigh of relief as he scuttles over to duck down into his natural habitat!

Sam slouches in just before the bell - baggy hoodie pulled over the t-shirt, makeup wiped clean, sullen expression.

A slender hand waves to her frantically, gesturing her over to where he is hauling another chair to the machines. "Sam! C'mere!"

She heads to Symon's side.

He jabs a finger at the screen. "I've never seen this software, have you? It looks state of the art. Cool, huh? Or maybe it's just SO OLD I don't recognize it. That's probably more likely." He glances up at her, then back to the screen, taking note but not staring. "Tired of the new look already? Not that it matters, really. It was different. But not bad." Tapping curiously, then scowling as the program doesn't behave as expected. "Nah, not bad. Better than I can do on my minis, if I try for any shading on the flesh tones it looks like a clown. Wish Dad would let me take even a semester of art..."

Mumbles. "It wasn't for me."

"If you say so. Wasn't bad though. I kinda wondered about some foundation, I was thinking maybe to make me look less like a corpse. Not to impress anyone - I mean, maybe for streaming because the camera made me look dead but in a bad way. But no one wanted to watch my gaming stream anyways, and it was eating up the bandwidth so I gave it up. Plus the LAST thing I need is Dirk giving me grief about face paint." A rueful shake of the head. "So where are you starting? Wanna check out the printers? Or gonna make me that shiv that will get me kicked out of school finally?"

"I mean, you might be able to make a knife?"

"And, um..." She rubs at her nose with the back of her hand. "I watched your stream."

He gives her a grin. "I THOUGHT that you might be one of those, like, 5 people. Heh. I'm good at playing but not at banter. They want someone snappy."

"Well, I wouldn't do good videos, neither. You should see Sylvi's. Man, I bet you could use her tips for minis..."

"You think so? She always looks really well put together. Not that I'd mention it, don't want her to get stuck up." A small snicker. "Or for Colton to think I'm hitting on his lady. His arm is Nocker-work, isn't it? If it were me, I'd have secret hydraulics for a mega-punch hidden inside. Wind, wind, wind - WHAM."

That gets a little laugh. "Heh. Yeah."

"Did she do your top-coat this morning? If so I really do need to get her advice. I never really thought of it in those terms... but it is kinda like art, what she does? I mean, it was still you, but - like, with nuance, and shading. If I could match that in my work, hell, I bet I could sell stuff on Ebay."

She shrinks inwards and shrugs. "She showed me how. I did it."

"...She fixed the one eye, it was wonky."

A glance over at her, and he just snorts and gives her an elbow. Ow, those are POINTY. "Damn, then. Maybe YOU should be giving me art lessons. Trade you for trig, eh?"

"Oh, you can escape to give me help with trig whenever...."

"Only if Tove makes more of that spicy potato salad. I'd even do differential algebra for that."

"I bet we could arrange that."

And then the teacher starts - this semester is TIN!

Symon squeaks in his earbuds halfway - he can still easily hear the teacher, but any squealing or rasping or clanking is muted a bit. A grin to Dagmar... and... focus! Gotta get an A if Dad's gonna let him keep this class...
