Mavis halts her motion gracefully, the ball settling neatly in her lacrosse stick as she turns toward Dee. She brushes a stray lock of damp hair from her face, looking good even damp with sweat.

"Yes?" she calls over, resting the stick lightly on her shoulder, her tone curious. "What can I do for you?"

"Couldn't help but notice your moves. Similar to polearm combat, andmight translate nicely to jousting. You like horses?" Mavis is by now probably probably at least getting basic riding lessons

Mavis smiles. "I seem to have come to an accord with Shae's Truth. But the hostler won’t let me try Jax yet." She adds a faint pout at the mention of the stallion.

"Hey, Shae's a fantastic horse, good dancer, Jax might be a bit big for ya... then again, maybe not. If you want, I can teach you some jousting. There's a club I'm a part of... and the Baron would love to use it to improve our representation at Pennons and such"

"Jousting? Me?" She looks a bit surprised, as she gazes down at the Lacrosse stick. "I do feel more at ease with a staff at hand. I wonder."

"Hey, one of my best friendss outside here uses a Halberd, so pole arms and lances might be your thing too"

Mavis tilts her head, the lacrosse stick still resting on her shoulder. "I hadn’t really thought of myself as a warrior," she admits, a hint of curiosity in her voice. "I suppose it’s something to consider."

"Maybe you're only part a warrior, but it's worth looking into. Me? I'm a jouster and a rider... but while I can hold my own in melee I'm hardly a pro in that. Gladiola can take a hit and is good at spear work, not so good at a smaller blade. Briar is scary with knives, and so on. Don't worry, you'll find your niche "

"Are you not a musician?" Mavis considers, "I saw a harp in the greatroom, and madame Marigold said it was yours."

"Compared to a lot of satyrs, I'm strictly mid in music. Its not my passion, but I often get musical duty as we haven't had a troubadour stick around long. Well, there was Kreely Hix the Clurichaun Banjo player who came in the dark time when the world just seemed to freeze, but the Baroness and Baron just didn't take a liking to him ,so Kreely went on to another location and they went to look again. Kreely was decent at music but honestly kind of boring. Collected Banjo strings and he made the mistake of joking about the dogs here, used the term 'mutts' ... that was when I knew the Baron was going to be looking elsewhere"

"But I guess, I should say that we're more than one thing anyway. Gladiola is a Kennel msitress AND a warrior. Madern is a cook private investigator"

Mavis gives a small, inward smile, her fingers tapping the staff of her stick. “I wonder what wonders might yet be revealed about my own past... and future.”

A plaintive sigh, “Oh, how I wish I didn’t have to wait a whole year for my Saining.”

"Hey, time flies by faster than you think, it's been months already , so your'e what, a quarter of the way through?"

A pout. "That remains three entire seasons yet to wait."

Damn she's pretty The satyress yanks her eyes from the pout "Hey, ask Thistle and Art about how long it felt for them."

"My point is, we all go through it, and it's a good time to try a lot of things and sees what clicks. It may answer some questions you had about who you were and are"

"Oh?" She leans on her staff, bending in towards Dee. "Do tell me!"

"From what I understand, depending on who you ask, either Gwen went all Warden on the two of them, or those two nuts were like kittens playing with electric fencing and ignoring folks while griping about how time wouldn't speed up for them. As for learning about ourselves? Well, Art learned a lot about stars and showed a knack for some arts. "

"Mm. Where do I sign up for MY own personal Troll warden?" She asks, playfully.

The satyress laughs "Gwen's gotten more hands off since then. For everyone's sanity, hers included I suppose. I think you're getting all of us keeping an eye on you and sharing the load this time. "

"Is that a good thing? I suppose the more attention I have, I should be grateful." She considers this for a while. "Well, it is what it is! So, how about letting me try out Jax?" She gives Dee a hopeful grin.

"You'll put your eye out kid" Dryly

"Oh, there's always healing magic." She says loftily.

At least the stink-eye towards Mavis from Thistle has receded since The Cookie Incident.

"Let's see you on Shae's Truth first, then work our way from there"

"Let's go!" She beams brightly at Dee!
