The Thanksgiving celebration at Silverwolf Barony unfolded in a joyful celebration. The grand hall was adorned with rustic decorations: woven garlands of autumn leaves, golden candlelight, and other touches to give a festive air.
Baron Aiden, proud and slightly smug, stood near the grand hearth, recounting tales of his successful turkey hunt. The wild birds, procured with his own bow and arrows, were the centerpiece of the evening. Cooked to perfection, their golden skin gleamed enticingly under the soft glow of candlelight and chandeliers.
Baroness Nadeen, who gracefully presided over the gathering, her radiant presence ensuring everyone felt welcome and included.
In the bustling kitchen, Marigold had been the whirlwind force behind the feast, aided by Madern, though his help is limited by the requirement that Marigold work unseen. Still, they have worked out a good system where she preps dishes and rests as he handles the baking and provides insight and tips to further train up the young chef protege.
Together, they produced a veritable banquet to rival any table across Concordia! The traditional dishes of roast turkey, mashed potatoes, and cranberry sauce were accompanied by Native American-inspired offerings - succotash, frybread, and a savory wild rice dish with cranberries and nuts.
Gwen is prompted to regale the group with tales - she is no Eshu, but can spin a good native story, and as a Dairrean is always proud to boast of her heritage AND her own exploits. Connor, who arrived JUST in time for dessert. listens wide-eyed (and full mouthed) from his seat he claimed right next to the Baron, before racing off to play games with Blossom and Rochallor.
Mavis sits with Dee, peppering the Satyr with questions - about jousting, about her life before Silverwolf, and especially about the enigmatic dark haired woman she spotted a day earlier, leaping from Dee's window and disappearing into the early dawn sky on black wings.
The thanes are both present, and even somewhat relaxed for once, partaking in glasses of the fine wine that Julius has paired with the feast.
The dessert table was a sight to behold: Marigold’s apple pies, pumpkin tarts, and a new contribution of wojapi—a traditional berry pudding, that Bluebell tastes and declares as "serviceable!"
Even Briar's appetite is sated for once - if not truly full, at least she is satisfied.
Art sits with Thistle as they feast and chatter, and deal with fishing Citrine out of a bowl of punch after she is distracted by the sparkly shimmer of the cut crystal punch bowl. No real harm is done, though she hiccups effervescent bubbles for a week.
