"I..." She frowns. "I'm not sure if.. I... "

"I'm not exactly great at making friends, either. But I figured we were friends. And. I mean, you have your Mom. And... I mean, dating is complicated? And having a crush isn't fun."

"Um."

"Well, not if the Crush isn't returned" She agrees , though she's not sure if the 'we were friends' is about Thistle and Art or the friendship Gwen and she have "I've dated before. Chuck was great. Did you know he's in a really great relationship in college now? Fantastic girl, she friended me on social media. I... clicked accept. I let him go after all, for both our goods. But ..it rubs it in a bit how darn lovely she is and how she has the guy I gave up. And I don't think Chuck was 'the one' but I do think I miss having 'a one'. It's stupid, my House scoffs at most Fiona nonsense but here i am." She ponders "Maybe I SHOULD have let the Baroness matchmake me. I'm not doing well on my own"

"I didn't mean to fall for Art? And... and I didn't think... um. I didn't think he liked me that way. Didn't think he could, because.. " A vague gesture at her face.

"Maybe... maybe looking too hard isn't the way to go?"

She huffs. "You focus on what you're missing, you can miss out on what you have."

Gwen ponders this, "You know something, that's... actually damn wise. The last part. WOrrying about your face is BS. You've always had bitching flair and that includes your smile even before you chrystliased. But I think maybe you've got a point about missing what I have. And what I've seen before me."

"Like I said, you have friends. Even if you ARE annoyingly overprotective."

"Mmmph" ("Good thing for folks around here I am") "A little" She concedes "And yes I have good friends." Sometimes she feels like a third wheel in an area full of couples, but that's whining beyond the need to

"David is very aesthetically pleasing."

"And he gave you a favor."

"It's like penguins, innit?"

A laugh at that "Great, now I have to find a tux"

"He doesn't feel attracted to me that way. He likes me as a friend and I'll treasure that" She rises "ANyway, enough of my post boggan self gossip . Important thing is Eridanus, getting him a book reader and some books and hopefully a visit from us more often to him."

"Maybe... oh, maybe I could get more chimera to visit?"

"I've had some luck with making gnomes, and they gotta like caverns..."

"The fact you can MAKE them wows me" She admits "MIght awant to see if theyre okay with it but that might be nice."

"do not give them sapping skills. We don't want THEM to make a sinkhole either"

Honestly the image of a gaggle of gnomes going down till they hit lava terrifies her on some hidden level

"I think it's less me and more the Dreaming leaping on an opportunity?"

"Because it sure ain't consistent." Brow furrow. "Could see if those sigils could help, though. I could try to MAKE friends for him."

"Take Art for a walk to visit them, you two can enjoy the trip back and forth just you, then socialize, then enjoy again. I.. admit I'm a bit nervous about the idea of making chimera that thinks. Earlier ribbing aside, I actually DID read Frankenstein but. .I trust you so be cautious?"

"I mean, chimera are - what? Fifty-fifty?"

"Arguably, the Nevers think."

"Yeah, but.. they were made by the Dreaming itself, the great spirit wills it yadda yadda. Different from making one from scratch" She glances at Citrine "or an upgrade"

"I'm not about to be a mad scientist."

"Is a mad artist genius any better?" Here she does smile a bit openly to let her friend know it is a tease "Okay oaky. I trust you" A beat "you SURE You don't want me nearby when you experiment though? I CAN be over protective, but you DO draw chimera and they aren't always nice"

"Eh, I haven't drawn that much attention. Mostly little guys."

"Oh that's right, you don't remember the Samhain incident" She shrugs "Not as well as I do"

"Uh."

"I was kinda... I was mostly pissy about Mavis?"

"Well ,the veil IS Extra thin that night" SHe rationalizes

"Art looked good in the costume we made, though." She preens.

That's what she remembers, of course.

"He did... " She concedes "Though I LIKE Mavis. Even after the change. She likes Art as a friend but has no attraction by the way, and he's not into her either. Boggan time was productive that way. I'm talking about the Chimera you drew in.. you .. don't recall at ALL do you?"

"No?"

"Clearly not, look, it's all blurry to me as well... " She admits

Something about a cloud shark that flew through the air? Hunting little schools of flying fish

"...was there a shark?"

Thistle vaguely remembers wanting to see if their float glands used something that could be a propellant. Then a lot of TEETH. Until Gladiola got in the way!

"A flying shark! Oh, oh, (*&^%$%, did I get the glands?"

Gwen might check one of her pockets.

"I have these zeppelin plans..."

…and Gwen finds a handful of chipped shark teeth! When did those get put there? They glimmer prettily… and are SHARP.

"Yeah, how did you forget THAT?" She pulls out the teeth "See?"

"Tore my costume to hell.. I remember that. I think someone threw a pie at the shark to distract it, or was it a pumpkin?"

"Pumpkin pie?" She suggests, even as she's checking her shelves.

"Might ahve been, probably in fact. Not sure who threw it though"
