The shorter mount gazes at her with intelligence - none of the gleam of a faery nature here, but a clever beast none the less.

"Are you as much a sucker for sweets as my idjits?"

"Smokey is not exactly a speed machine..." A warning "And not fae blooded"

"Goldberry is probably sweet-tempered, if she's like her namesake."

A muffled CHIME from within the sugar-bag.

SIGH

"Why the sigh, oh cranky chromatic one?"

"Somebody is gonna wind up sticky."

"Oh, yeah, make suree she doesn't fly near the horses like that. they may take a nip"

"Come on, guys, these are some of the best horses in Concordia. "

Citrine pops out of the sugar bag, hauling one last cube up to the hayloft with her. As predicted, she is quite dusted with sugar. It gives her a rather crystalline glimmer - though Thistle knows she'll need a good cleaning and oiling later.

Art approaches Goldberry with a hand out, then stops, and looks to Dee. "May I?"

"Please, remember, like this" She makes a palm safe fingers gesture "But go ahead"

He straightens his fingers out and tries again. "Pspspspspsss" He says, as though courting a stray cat.

The horses shown were picked chiefly for good temperament...

but one can hardly blame the mare for giving the equine equjivilent look of 'is he serious?'

She tries offering Smokey the "safe" hand for inspection.

"Not a cat, Arthur. " She smiles at the Beaumayn

As for Smokey...

He chuckles and lets the pretty mare sniff his hand, then gently strokes her mane. "She seems gentle, for a creature that could dash me under her hooves at the least provocation." Cautiously admiring.

"She's not really a war horse by nature, least not compard to the others"

"One can never tell. Lady Nadeen looks sweet and lovely, but I would not want to cross her on a battlefield.."

Smokey is sniffing for sugar even as pulling the BIG eyes on the Nocker

"Goldberry IS pretty. She looks painted." Thistle can be relied on for sugar!

Thistle is now Smokey's favorite person

D'Lorean looks pained.

then says "If you really prefer the mule, we can talk to Dolph"

"But i warn you, Smokey is mostly well mannered but has a naughty streak"

"I'm not saying I prefer the mule."

"Well, see any horses you like?"

"Well, I guess Art likes Goldberry..."

“She’s a sweet thing. Here, say hi?”

"Hi?"

Art grins and reaches to take Thistle’s hand, stretching it towards the mare.

The mare presses her nose into each hand

"Hi!"

The Shaggy Icelandic is getting a bit of grooming from Dee while Goldberry says hello, no trim, just a combing

Goldberry makes a kind of slow snort, more a blow sound

"that means she's in a good mood" A nod

"It does?"

She sighs. "I wish the Nevers counted. They're plenty of trouble."

"That's a blow, a snort is shorter...a snort tends to mean I'm scared, a blow is usually the opposite. " Dee says, "Look on the bright side, at least you got muppet to help you make your dog quota"

"Yeah, well..."

"Too bad we can't let you tie dye one of them" A pause "Though you could dress one up pretty colorfully with the saddle gear and ribbons"

"Oh! Like the horse in Emerald City!"

"Oh the Horse of a Different Color is a thing actually. Usually a Chimera, but now and then it crops up in a fae line. It never breeds true though, which is why it's rare and special . Not one in a hundred fae horses has that quality. On a practial level, better to go after horses for intelligence, speed, or other traits; but it would be cool to have one here. "
