"Lady Nadeen has been speaking to me about the duties of a Liege to their people. She spoke of dreamers, and that often mortal artists will have a fae patron that sponsors their work and protects them, encouraging them, so that their dreams may flourish. Do you think we could do that for Ted? I mean, we don't have the resources that the Barons do, but we can do the rest..."

"I can't say I understand all his work personally, but I cannot deny that it is a work of art."

Her smile fades. "Maybe."

"Remember that mural he did on the side of that crumbling garage?"

"Yeah. He's really good."

"I mean, musing is the big deal in general. Getting Dreamers to do the thing."

"It was colorful, vibrant, and fun... kinda like you." He grins. From another guy it might seem like a cheesy pickup line, but Art? Bless, he means it.

"Never met a color I didn't like, right?" A touch downbeat, though she's trying to quip.

"What about that, like, when Mom tried to make an Indian recipe, and she added red dye to the cream instead of paprika and chili, because it would be 'too spicy'?

Oh yes, they have oft reminisced about the "Pepto Bismol Butter Chicken".

"Okay, that was pretty awful."

"I mean, she tried."

"It didn't taste bad, it was just... so very pink."

"Not even Barbie would like that pink."

"Who is that?" Curious.

"Oh, right. Barbie's a doll. Like, a fashion doll?"

"I always gave mine terrible haircuts."

He seems enthralled. "Ah, a poppet! We don't have any in our home. Perhaps in Morgan's old boxes, who knows what else she has stored in there..."

"Morgan probably had at least one. It's like, a rite ofpassage?"

"Do you still have yours? I would look upon these haircuts." He says with a grin. "Perhaps styling is your true calling."

"I had to give them up when we moved to this apartment."

"Oh. Perhaps we can find others, at the resale shop? Pre-owned, but still with character. Mother finds many treasures there. Well, treasures to her."

"They have books."

"Maybe. You can color their hair with sharpies, too."

"...I got in trouble for getting marker all over the kitchen table." A wry smile.

"Oh yeah, Goodwill always has a ton of books. And broken electronics!"

"It adds character!"

Oh, does she know of the broken electronics. Though, now she also knows why they are hard to come by... Zelda scours the shelves and knows when they restock. A friendly rivalry, to see who finds the best scores first.

It's cutthroat!

"There's a spot where Gawain stood on the back of the couch and drew on the wall in permanent marker... Dad put up a frame around it with his name and the year."

"Okay, that's fantastic."

"Tiny artist." A smile, but why are her spirals blue again?

"We should check the Goodwill stores in your father's town. Watertown caters to the more affluent, so perhaps the cast offs will also increase in value and variety." Clearly hoping for more books!

"Point...." And, no Zelda!

Unless... but no, how would she know to check the Salvation Army over at Yancy and 2nd?

"You know Janice will insist on making dinner."

"True... but it won't be from a box?"

"Oh, never."

"She has to be expecting any time now, no?" A glance around, and he says in a low voice, "She has become rather gravid."

"Yeah. Frankie keeps suggesting names."

"Misty has gotten really protective, though."

"Which is good, right?"

"I believe so? That may better be a question for Gwen, you know she knows all about these hounds. But if I had to say, as long as she's not pushing boundaries or worrying or stressing out the Mother?"

"I wonder if I have siblings back in Arcadia." He considers.

"If I did, and they wanted a host? I might not mind if they wished to visit Lancelot. The others, may stay."

"Lance kind of sucks."

"Morgan is pretty cool. And Wain adores you."
