"Is this a sustained flame apparatus with gas or diesel, or a short burst setup with propane or butane?" He looks over the cables and tubes in interest. "I see! Yes, gas IS safer."
Zelda calls over crankily, "Don't tell a nocker her business! Of course it's gas. Less mass flow rate and faster dissipation, and easier to extinguish. Plus, ain't no small thing to be hauling a tank of liquid fuel around, perfectly fine for going to war, less fine for just hanging onto. Now, the REAL ticket would be a way to suck in oxygen from the atmosphere, compress it, and have it accelerate the combustion..."
Adler offers in a carefully helpful tone, "...unless you're in an enclosed space, then it will accelerate removal of oxygen from the atmosphere and quickly black you, and your target, both out."
Zelda quips back, "UNLESS there's a backup oxygen tank for the wielder!" "In which case, why not use that for the accelerant?"
It's clear that the two have worked together for a long time, by their easy banter.
