Ivan slurps her face. Briar is swinging the squirrel by the tail playfully. She looks up. "Yeah, have fun. Try not to let Ground Chuck get eaten up by wolves."

A grin, most of her teeth not showing, a positively friendly one.

"I will" She assures, another scritch for Ivan "Don't worry boy, I'll take you camping some other time. You've earned it" And he has. More than once. But two is company three is a crowd

at least for what she has planned

And her mom might see her shoot by and hear "Gotta get ready leaving tonight love you so much I'll be back but need to get packed ..." As the voice trail off as she is down the hall

Marigold is chatting with Madern as she sorts laundry. She's no pooka to draw out secrets, but she IS warm and friendly, and knows that busy hands can help when worried, and coaxes out stories of his friends, who most certainly are not lost on the silver. "Sounds like she had a hard time of it as a childling, but it must have been lovely to see their faces after she got her wings..."

Glancing up, "Oh, do you need help packing, dear?"

Madern likes to keep his hands busy, and when he's told how to sort Laundry, joins in. He's nimble, every finger precise and makes quick work as he talks about friends and family. The boy's not afraid of hard work as long as he can have fun while doing it. "oh yeah, she's too nice if you ask me. Some were real bi..err mean to her, but she let most of it slide . I.."

Gwen can be heard "I got it thankx..."

Madern looks at Marigold, then offers "want me to do the rest of this so you can hang with your daughter while she preps? I got it" A shrug.

Marigold gives a small smile. "She's growing up so fast. I wish I had been able to be there for her when she was young... but I'll make the most of momming her, no matter her age."

A separate pile of clothes that need repair - mostly Briar's with rips and tears, but some of Rochallor's pants will need hemming, the boy just keeps growing.

"You know, I don't know her story, but maybe she's got some old pictures of herself online or something.. she could share with you? Get you to know her better. She might think it's lame, because, well, we're teens, but I bet you could find something"

A look at the clothes that need repair THAT is probably beyond him

But he can fold and put things away

"I don't want to pry, you know..." A thougthful look. She DO want to pry... "But even if I did, I'm afraid today's computers are a bit beyond me. I have Gwennie print out recipes, because I always click the wrong thing, and then the whole bleepin' TV screen goes away..."

"oh, well I'm not really that savvy but I might help too if you want. " An idea. "Can't hurt for me to do some searches online if you want" He likes Marigold. She's a sly old bird, but kind. She sure tires easy it seems to him

"Well, I'd love to help her pack, but this might be something she wants to pick out on her own. After the laundry, I have a picnic basket to put together for four, and I haven't even started on the linens for the upstairs bedrooms." A sigh, and she admits to the piskey, "Bluebell normally helps with those, but she's been working on setting up the guest house down the road. For visitors, you see, and also a smidge away from the bale for when we need some 'downtime'."

"Blubell's fun" he comments ,and she is. "Okay. Look, let's make a trade. Put fried chicken, your style, on the menu in the next three days. And today I'll do the upstairs stuff. Easier on your knees right? " He ponders "I didn't know a steward DID all this stuff. I thought it was meet greet and make sure they eat" Sheepish "You really have to hustle"

"If you could just bring down the laundry and linens that need washing, and lay out the new bedspreads? I can handle the work, but you're not wrong... stairs are tough on knees."

A grin "At least going up and down the stairs I won't annoy Thistle by stomping on her workshop roof"

"Fried chicken - Nashville hot, southern style, Asian inspired, wings, broasted, buttermilk, smoked?"

He almost drools, then says "Either Nashville HOt, or Southernstyle, please? Whichever others will most likely like too?"

"Well, Miss Willy is partial to southern style, and we can do hot sauce on the side? Briar will eat anything, bless her. M'Lord prefers something more elegant a'times, but I can have a breast sliced for him."

"Oh uhm.. " Nervous "I won't get you in trouble with the Lord? Nobles in Willows can be really .. firm?"

"Over fried chicken? Not hardly! Now, if you sat in his place, and flirted with his lady? THAT might do it."

"Have you fallen on the wrong side of a liege in the past? No judgement, mind."

A pause and he's tempted to lie, but honor comes in many forms and non warriors can have it too. "Well, if you asked, yeah. I 'm a piskey. I try to return stuff but not everyone appreciates a slip of fingers. " There, that's trutheful enough he doesn't have to tell the details.

"Well, borrowing here and there is one thing, and it's in your nature. You might as well string up a boggan steward for gossiping about her Lady. Which is to say, not that it never has happened, but at least here we have a bit more leeway on such things. Now, if you were to honestly have betrayed, injured, or burgled, that is ANOTHER story..."

"That woudl definitely be another story. Now I did borrow a Fiona's brush once. It was musical, seriously, it played soft music when it was used. Neat. I gave it back with an apology and praised it a lot"

"Oh, now that sounds like a lovely treasure. No artists here, not as such... well, no PAINTERS, we all have our artistic facets, Thistle the most of any of us. She makes the most interesting creations, truly talented."

"AH, sorry, no painter here either" he admits "Now Sheera can draw a ilttle. Tends to cutesy animae"

"Oh, cartoons are delightful. WHEN you see her again, perhaps she will come visit?"

Subtly reassuring as best she can.

"Thanks" He says "I hope so. I guess I'll find out where she is. Seems the trolls around here are almost as connected as you boggans"

"Mm, well, I'll reach out as well, soon enough." She reaches across to give him a reassuring pat on the arm, not sure if he's a hugger. "We'll get you squared away, dear. Now, I'd best get lunch started, if you can bring me those linens, I'll have them washing in a trice."

"Oh sure, right away" He probably shouldn't run in the hold like that, but his feet are sure and he bounds up steps with no pain to his legs

She watches him go before turning to the kitchen. "Ah, the exuberance of youth..."

She checks to see if all her tools are in place.

Indeed, when Wudlig heard a PIskey was around, he put more locks on his things

Thistle doesn't have locks, really... but she's considering it.
