Aiden pauses in buttoning one of his cuffs. "Rover Olgar?"

"Rover Olgar, as you saw, is rough, course, but has a sensible unseelie approach to somethings. Such as training with his dog with us, if you recall? " She says "But Yes. He's a Rover first and foremost, and far more powerful in Dreamcraft than most will ever know"

"He seemed fairly even keeled. Not the sort to rush about. Are we agreed that we should bolster our defenses and alert Dark Gate?" He considers. "If it was a mere dream, it may weaken our standing with the Fort."

"Perhaps we should confess our source is... promising, but we can't promise it's fully reliable. Yet." She says "If they ignore it and it goes awry, that's on them. If they heed and nothing happens, well, we did confess it was nebulous. If they heed it and something happens, we look like grand allies indeed"

"Brilliant." He murmurs. "Since we are awake, shall we watch the sun rise?"

"I'll have Linnea go over right away." A small smile. "I do not think she will mind broaching the Chieftain at rest."

A smile at that "Yes. Let's do that. THe sunrise is nice" A smile "And yes, the thane would be welcome I am sure"

"It amuses me that the Chieftain never seemed to consider that our Linnea might be a plant to learn more of their inner workings. Alas, such a pairing is more clever than I had even considered." He admits.

"Oh don't even joke to Linnea about that. SHe would likely balk entirely"

He smiles, gently. "Then I shall not... lest she flee to his arms AND his service."

A look at him, and she smiles "Yes, a woman's heart is never to be toyed with too lightly, and she must have her due"

A glance at her ring finger just for a second

The soft soft of fabric swishing, as Aiden finishes dressing. "Do you wish for coffee or tea? Or may you desire to return to sleep after watching the sun perform?"

"Well, if our thane will deliver the message, then I must after Dawn make contact with RIvervale I suppose but I think we have time"

"As you will."

Soon, Linnea is roused and sent with (possibly) urgent news to Dark Gate, and coffee or tea (if desired) readied for Nadeen. Marigold fusses that she hadn't time to prepare a basket, but Linnea insisted that the news was of import. That, or perhaps she wanted to catch the Chieftain in his footie pajamas.

Nadeen gasps as the fire and the trods of the land get hammered. Aiden feels it too. It is well they fortified defenses... and braced the trods. Otherwise their new trod might have been uprooted

Aiden looks to Nadeen. "We'd better hope that Willy and Wudlig came through with the reinforcements. I didn't understand one sentence in three that lad said, but he sounded confident."

"I ..thought I Had more time to warn Rivervale" She is horrified "Oh damn it."

"We should go out, We're down one thane, if something got past the barriers somehow... then our Nockers could be fighting for their lives right at the front of it"

"Arthur's dream showed Olgar, we believe, at high alert. If such was true, they are forwarned." He assures her.

"Our people are capable. Do not forget we have two Knights besides, and yourself and I. Our Stewards are capable in need, and even Bluebell and the childlings are skilled. We'll handle anything that may come our way."

"Yes, yes" She nods And..straps her sword on

He takes a moment to admire his queen, then nods, and they are on their way to check the trods and patrol their lands!

They come out to see the Dogs have done a good job getting some nightmares that dared to show their ugly mugs. Briar is chewing on the leg of something that looks like a mythical Yale. GLadiola has impaled a monster that looks like a cat with nine tails that acted like whips. Little damage to her in her armor and skin. Dee grins as she reports the horses are safe. Her lance bloody

but yes, there is more to patrol, more to see

and somewhere, while the dogs are distracted, a figure scurries past the chaos, and.. a hand hastily plucks a pie from a window, then the figure hides again

Marigold reaches for the mincemeat pie, and looks baffled. "Must be losing my marbles..." she mutters... luckily, she has 4 others ready for the oven.
