"The sniffer works on the Spriggans, but you think it could adapt to others?"

She chews on her lip, spirals glowing and wheels clearly turning in her head.

"Folk don't want to admit it, but everything's got a price." He mutters, wiping at the counter stain that seems to be embedded into the vinyl.

"And some folks have trouble recalling a poisoned well is bad for them too when they drink from it" She reminds him, her comment on the threat to his dreamers being quite serious "But let's hear what you want"

A glance at Thistle and Gwen both. "When a tinkerfuck has gotta get the still-beatin' heart of a white haired dreamer born under the full moon to power yer golem, or a spear needs to be quenched in sommat stronger than water? You can't just waddle into Sears or tippity tap on Amazon. That's when they call on those they pretend don't exist 'round PLEASANT company. Creepy as slugs, and vicious as caps. I don't trust em, blood should run hot, not cold."

He leans over the counter, his breath hot and rancid from between jagged teeth. "Them's a ghast, girly."

"A ghast" She nods, grim "Thank you. I'll learn what I can about them unless you want to give me more details yourself. Meanwhile, what price are you hoping for?"

"....you know, bet Glass could find Briar no matter what. Maybe if I got some of her fur for a new Sniffer medium? Or drool. Shit, that dog salivates like a 47-year-old balding accountant eatin' lunch at Hooters..."

"Twelve fifty." He growls at Gwen.

A smile at Thistle "She's got drool yes. " Then she pays Al "I'll do better than that. If I can help Briar get out from under the thumb of these yahoos, I will get you some top notch lettuce, we're talking fresh, and maybe some quality cheese . You can say you already got that, but I bet some more would appeal "

"Lettuce. Feh. Crunchy water."

"Some folks like it, Pickle girl" A smile

"The cost is twelve fifty. Burger. Onions, Extra pickle. Fries." He jabs a finger at the counter. "And we didn't talk bout NOTHING." He gives her change, slapped onto the counter.

Though, there is a glimmer of interest in his dark, piggish eyes as she mentions quality cheese.

"Talked about burgers, clearly."

A grunt.

"Right. Burger talk and only that"

"Iffin yer brat is off sniffing around for a snack, she'd best check that she's not on the menu." He mutters to Thistle.

"That one's free. Tell your goddamn friend that tip jar ain't for show. I'm running a fuckin business here."

Gwen slips in a ten dollar bill to the tip jar

Ivan gazes through the door, staring at Al. He might be trapped on the other side of the glass, but it is clear that if the man tried anything, Ivan would protect, even if he had to jump in through the window.

Al glares back out at the dog. No soft-heart here, there is not a doggie bag offered.

"Keep your eyes open Some quality cheese may 'fall off a truck' near your place next week"

Grumble. "I keep any other idjits from hurting themselves, more'n my hair is gonna be blue. Thanks for the burger, Al."

A look to Thistle and a nod of sympathy

"Don't be doin' me no favors." He growls. "No loitering. Git." He never tells Thistle to clear out, no matter how long she's lost in her daydreams, but apparently he has different standards.

"Seeya." Thistle always does come back. Like a bad penny.

Gwen heads out with Thistle, pats Ivan "Good boy" A nd gives him a snack . She tends to carry them in the pouch

More welcome here, perhaps, then a bad penny. Al seems to take his payment quite seriously.

He doesn't need to make it to three before the never zips out a cracked window after Thistle.

The sign on the door is flicked OFF, the neon buzz going silent, and the lock is clicked. Apparently, closed for the night.

Stealth is probably not the best option as the gaggle of rainbow fireflies follows Thistle and Gwen.

"A for food, F for making you feel welcome" She mutters to Thistle

"What? Nah, he was being pretty social today."

"Right. Nocker" She observes then says "This is bad. This is flat out holy crap bad."

"Okay, this is dumb - but you think Glass could just track Briar herself?"

"I can work on a new formula for the Sniffer, but that'll take time, and I ain't fully sure what these ghasts smell like."

"I think she might have taken glass with her. Whih really worris me if she's using a blood hound to track peoople THAT way"

"....The Glennies got good noses, too."

"Street smells seem to throw dogsoff." A sympathetic look to Ivan "And Bloodhound is leaps above other breeds. I think our options are either going into poor parts of town with few cops to see where ghasts might find easy meals" A shudder , "Returning home and reporting to their lordships..which I have mixed feelings abot... or going home and looking tosee if glass is there"

"I'd really love your opinion here, Thistle. And thank you for the help in there. Al is not fond of nobles and it shows"

"Any kind of magic trackers?"

"Some fae hounds ken along with scent, " She pats Ivan "But most don't ken any better than we do. "

"Not that kind of magic. Like - the spell stuff? Maybe the creepy Archivist can do a mojo and look in a crystal ball?"

"Or Art could try to have a vision. But pity there ain't, like... a magic compass, or you ever play D&D? A locate spell."

"Yeah," A thought "the baron might be able to do it, but we go back to telling the barons"

"Maybe I could make a compass?"

"Well, if we were lucky, we'd be able to track her with a spell that acted like a bloodhound kind of.. .wisp. Not one of my talents"

"See? Magic!"

"Okay - what's a wisp?"

"Some kind of smoke?"
