Marigold fusses just a bit to Gwen as the teenage knight prepares to go into town with Thistle. "I don't disagree that Mister Aberdeen might be a good reference for anything related to Carthage matters, but it's just..." She looks over the kitchen, and frowns. "I don't think I have a single thing proper to send along with you."

"They like rotten stuff, right? No crud in your kitchen..."

"Maybe tea?"

"Tea might work" She nods

She snaps her fingers. "Of course.... " And pops into the pantry, rustling around.

"Let's see - we have the imported Irish breakfast, that's a robust and strong blend, some chai that Bluebell is fond of... Linnea prefers jasmine and Danica plain green when they're not drinking coffee..." An armload of tea - most bagged, but the black breakfast tea is loose leaf.

"Nice idea, Thistle" Gwen says

"Here's what I have on hand, if you think any of it proper, I'll bundle it up with some cookies that he can enjoy next week."

"Well, Art was telling me about the spooky Librarian at EarthRunes."

"Tea is a thing, even though, y'know, coffee furkin' exists, and is clearly superior."

"That it does. However, we don't much cater to tea drinkers here, else if we did, m'Lord never would have sold off that antique tea-chest, not even for charity. That, I think, was also just a gesture to his lady as a mark of esteem." Marigold says with a smile, enjoying the bit of gossip.

"Hunh."

"I don't know why anyone drinks tea when there's coffee' She sorts through "irish imported Breakfast might be fitting from a place that is half Ailil"

"The loose leaf it is." Soon there is a rather neat little bundle packed up, tea and treats that will stale up nicely for eventual consumption.

A rustle in Thistle's breast pocket, and a foot with tiny clawtips on it pokes out of her pocket. A rear foot, it seems, he has gotten himself upended and tangled in his own limbs. A frantic squeaking starts.

"Better help him there before he learns to breath fire or something" Gwen suggests

"Idjit." Fondly.

She does, however, help sort Fornax out.

Soon he is right-side-up, and rests his chin on the edge of the pocket so that he can see out. His eyes are half-lidded and once no longer in distress, he seems a bit listless.

She gives his eye ridges a little scritch

He does lean into the touch - after the first few days, he responds to her hands just as well with or without the salamander gloves.

"No crying, so I don't think he's hungry..."

She helps her mom with tea prep

In a light conversational tone, Marigold asks, "Which car will you be taking? I know you have your learner's permit, Gwenny, but I'm not certain how many hours you've put in yet, Thistle dear?"

"I... Gertrude is..." She eyes Gwen, gauging weight

"Oh, was thinking I'd take yours mom, or we can call a ride?" Gwen says

A hidden smile, Gwen can tell that Marigold that smugly satisfied look of I-know-something. "Well, you can take your truck, or if Thistle does have her permit already, you could take her car."

"I don't have a car...-

"wait..what?' gwen blinks, then....

a horn sound from outside

"Oh? Is that so? Well, you'd best go discuss that with Dame Lavender. She must be confused." Marigold says in a not-at-all-confused tone as she tucks the basket into Gwen's arms, and gives the two gentle pushes towards the door.

Gwen says "No way " and she moves out

"huh?" She follows Gwen

A tiny SQUANK noise in response to the horn sound as Fornax beeps back.

Outside, Dame Lavender greets them . She has two vehicles awaiting....

"No #@&$in way...."

A pick up with so much leg and head room it's scary, it's an older model but with a fresh coat of paint , and styling a truly killer design of an air brushed wolf loping

The other car is a re-purposed taxi! The art style of it made in a fashion of Thistle's hair and cheek spirals

A stream of appreciative expletives

"If you hate the designs, A free paint job gift certificate is yours...." Dee starts to explain

And some muttering about what needs to be "fixed"

Gwen moves to the truck "It's beautiful"

SNORT

"but why?" Gwen gasps at Dee 'i mean, yes, but why?'

"Good services rendered to the hold... Thistle for example, helped against a JuJu Bird and Jabberwocky..." Dee says "And Gwen, you know what you've done. Don't say that was my duty"

"that was just my... "Gwen blushes and shushes

Marigold smiles from the doorway, commenting, "Now, Thistle, they DID have to clean and re-condition the interior several times to get the odeur out of that cab, you let us know if it still has any lingering that bothers you." She might recognize it now, this was the cab that the Spriggan had driven! Not that he needs it any longer...

"Pyew!"- Citron chimes in

"The thing got fumigated like 3 times and Wudlig hooked a particle pump to vaccum it out" Lavender says "It's even got an air freshner" She gestures to the Never shaped Air Freshner at the front "Smells like Bubblegum"

"Mom is gonna flip..."

"It's beautiful" Gwen repeats as she is locked on her own truck and has already slid in "So much room"
