He laughs. "Well, -I- don't have to practice metalworking with Miss Willy, so it's even!"

"Oh, but Willy's actually not dreck at all with smithing... it ain't clay, but there's still fire."

And, a Knight's Heart cab pulls up!

Gwen shows up a bit mussed

Art waves her over. "You made it in time. Room for one more?" He asks the Satyr behind the wheel.

She eyes Gwen, then shrugs. "Hop into the front seat, if you two in the back don't mind being a little tight."

"Much obliged" Gwen says. Aware that she still carries the beads she used to strangle and shatter the thing

"Hey Gwen!" Thistle is cradling the clay thing in both hands.

It's definitely not an antique, but something rather new. Or new-ish, it has dust still in the corners. A string of soft leather strung with beads, and an embroidered piece with an animal design on it...

Of what looks like a bear!

Gwen has moved into the front seat, "Hey, Trina. Art. Uhm.. Chuck says hi" A gentle ccough

Art scooches into the middle, giving Trina the seat with more leg room behind the driver. "To Silverwolf, please."

"Sorry about earlier. I couldn't say I was worried about you running into Blaine in front of the other kids. Wudlig says sidhe are more vulnerable to banality, and I don't know anything worse than him."

"So I made up the asthma? I'm glad you figured it out, though."

As Gwen looks at it further, something about the design sparks her memory. This looks like traditional work of the Oneida tribe. They honor animal clans, including Bear, which is a symbol of healing. There are a few native kids that go to school, but no one she knows specifically. Maybe she could figure out which Dreamer made this.

"Oh, yes. I figured it out." He says, looking a little sheepish. "So what happened back there? I saw that you managed to provision many art supplies."

"There was this chimera..." She frowns. "A 'mirror nervosa' - I remember them, but it... it looked like Blaine, and sounded like him."

The driver startles a bit, swerving slightly, but quickly corrects her course. "Sorry about that. Nervosas are bad news, kid. Try to stay away from them!"

"Kept repeating about how I was trash, and worthless, and sloppy. Like a tape on loop."

"Well, Gwen killed it!"

"Actually WE Killed it, Thistle"

Gwen is embarrassed. It took her awhile to realize there were other native kids at the school at all. Here she is, robbing one without meaning to

The driver glances sideways over to Gwen, clearly impressed. "Is that so? Well, good on you both. Me, I'd have been running as fast as my hooves take me. Saw one once, born of a fever dream that was haunting a clinic. They had to call in a Knight to slay that, and that with his sword almost winked out from the banality of the place."

Turning down a side road towards the Manor. "Beg pardon, didn't mean to interrupt. Bad driver etiquette."

"Yeah, so, Gladiola killed it. And she's a Knight!"

"No running is damn smart if you have the option. Even most trolls would agree"

Of ccourse, if someone else would be left behind, it wouldn't be an option bytroll standards

"He was... I was trying to stop listening to him. It was... I got cold, it was dark,, just... he kept repeating himself.."

"Oh, Dame Gladiola! I should have recognized you. Ain't that many stone-skin around. Begging my pardon again, ma'am." She reaches and taps a horn, as close as she can to bow or salute while driving.

Art reaches over and squeezes one of Thistle's hands. "That sounds terrifying."

"But I... felt something warm? And I dunno, I thought I should reach for it. It was colder than an ice-skater's tits."

"This is what I found. It had magic in it, but it's gone quiet. But it was the warm thing I sensed."

"Sounds like you were lucky. When Nervosa form, they keep growing. Some of them develop real intelligence, which is when they get TRULY dangerous. Think of a one of the T-rexes from the original Jurassic Park, vs. the Raptors they have in the new movies. Night and day. Damn, Chris Pratt has a fine ass, though."

"The skin is a give away" A soft smile "but no offense taken. I should patrol in town more I guess"

"Yeah? Hunh. Yeah, this one was more... well, like I said - a mirror. A recording. So it didn't know what the words meant, and realizing that made them hurt less."

Gwen has opinions on telling any chimera it's not real, but isn't going to voice them in front of a stranger

"I'm sorry," She asks the satyr "What's your name? If you don't mind?"

"Sofie Swiftride, at your service. And no offense taken, I mostly do the Watertown beat. There's not as much traffic up here."

"Nice to meet you, Sofie" Dame Gladiola nods

"Oh yeah. Same. Hey."

Art beams at her, and as they pull up in front of the Manor, he leans forward to offer his hand to shake. A raised brow, and Sofie takes his hand, shaking over the center console. "Pleasure to meet you, Sofie Swiftride of Knight's Heart. I am Art of Silverwolf, Fledge of unknown House. I thank you for your service on this day, and hope that da'an follows you kindly on your travels."

"How much do we owe you?" Gwen reaches into her pockets

Sofie looks to be hiding a snicker, as she answers solemnly, "My pleasure, Art of Unknown House, that will be $14.50, plus tip."

"Unless you're looking to trade, in which case, I'd accept that necklace you were flashing. It's a right pretty bit of work."

"I got it" She hands over a 20

"Keep the change"

"The necklace isn't mine to give" She adds

A shrug, easy going "It was worth asking. Hey, thanks! If you need a ride in the future, call me up."

Thistle scoots out sideways, still cradling her prize with both hands.

Her card passed over, the Satyr waves, and heads off, calling, "Oh, and tell Julius he owes me a beer!"

"A beer?" SHe frowns "Why would... okay" Sofie is gone, no point in asking her. She looks at Thistle "Later could you look at this necklace? I think it's another Amerind"
