"Do you really think she'll like these clothes?" Julius asks, looking at one of the bundles he carries as they exit the trod.

A warning bark, that turns into a welcome bark. It looks like one of the dogs was on alert and watching for them... quite possibly Ivan?

"Knowing Bluebell she'll love them even if, perhaps especially if, she alters them. " Gwen says then turns to hear the bark "Hey" She calls out

"Come here" She calls to the dog , a voice of firm fondness

Ivan obeys, though with a slight limp.

Julius frowns a bit, shuffling his packages. "Did your dog get into something? Looks a bit lame. Hey, boy. Step on something sharp?"

"No..> "She moves to him, and abandons other thoughts, running her stony fingers all over his form gently, then she finds it "Ivan's been in a fight. He's wounded. Something happened"

Ivan is stoic, but he can't help a soft whine as fingers, even gentle, probe the nasty gash.

"My brave boy" She says, "Come on, let's get you some healing and find out what happened."

Julius frowns as he looks over. "That doesn't look good. It will scar or get infected. Best get one of the thanes on it." He glances around cautiously. "Still, whatever it was must be over, or there would be more hubbub around."

Ivan gives a single wave of his tail. He is hurt, but no longer in attack mode.

"Someone or something hurt my dog. If it's not over, I'll make it so" Gladiola moves along, tending to her dog "Let's get you healed up, Ivan. "

As they approach the hold, they run into one of the Glennies, which sniffs and then leaves at a quick trot.

Not too long afterwards, Danica finds them, long troll strides making short work of the trail.

"Trigger told me you were back, Dame Gladiola. I would have healed Ivan already, but I think the proud boy wanted to show off his battle scars." She shakes her head a bit. "Do not worry, the threat is over."

Gwen looks at her dog "You vainglorious knobhead" But she pets him gently, then says "Thank you, Dancia. Please, I don't want to risk infection. What threat please? Was anyone else hurt?"

A beat "Did Art and Thistle get an idea again?"

"A visiting Knight of the Lord's acquaintance got it into his head to hunt a Jabberwock. Or he trailed it here. Not really clear which." She grunts, clearly annoyed even as she knees and lays hands on Ivan. "You want to keep a scar, boy? No shame in being proud of a good fight."

She gives a glance over at Julius, frowning.

The Satyr blinks at the look. "What?"

Gladiola sighs "Ivan , if you want the scar that's your call." Then she notes the attention Julius is getting "Did the Jabberwock hurt anyone else?"

Danica busies herself for a long moment, mumbling something over Ivan in a chant, and soon the Dog's ears are perked again and his tail waves, though he will have a rather rakish mark moving forward.

"He utilized Bluebell as bait. She was... slightly injured in the process, though has since been healed." The stiff posture and clipped tone of Danica screams disapproval in Troll.

"He..what?"

Julius BLINKS - "He... Bluebell?" A moment passes, and then the Satyr is GONE - taken off in a flash at top hoof speed, his packages of clothing and squash discarded without a thought.

"Julius-" Danica calls after him in a warning tone, but he's already gone. She stands, brushing off her slacks. "The Knight insists she was a volunteer, and as best as she can say, it's true. And he is an honored guest of the Baron." The Thane turns and starts towards the hold.

"Oh damn.. " Gladiola says, she pets Ivan "Thane, thank you, but I'm worried now that Julius is about to get in a fight with a trained knight." She gathers stuff up and races after , though troll legs are no match for satyr

Ivan strides by her side, easily keeping up now that the nasty cut has healed. Danica fills Gwen in along the way with the other details.
"Those Fledges just can't seen to keep their noses out of things, but I suppose that's what Wilders do."

"Sounds like in this case, it's a good thing they were there" Gladiola admits, "Even if retoractively I'm freaking out. " THank goodness for troll stoicness "This knight...an honored guest?" That..frustrates. You don't violate hospitality. It's wrong. She can't strangle the guy or even... she shakes her head "What's your opinion on this guest?"

"Old friend of Lord Aiden. They used to quest together. It's not my place to judge his personality.. but it seems he is far more focused on his own battle glory than the safety of those around him."

"The Shining Host rule in many styles" Gladiola sounds older than she is as she says that "Some of them value their subjects, others put a price on their subjects.. .and they're not the same. But Bluebell isn't his to use. Of course if she volunteered that does change things. But as a pooka how can she tell her side?"

As they approach the manor, there are voices clear in argument.

"What do you MEAN he's gone?!" Julius is... not quite shouting, but he definitely has raised his voice, though Marigold, hands on her hips, is having none of it. "I know you're upset, but don't you take that tone with me, Julius Anthony Georgiou..." Julius takes a step back, he is not immune to Middle Name Magic.

Gwen almost winces. And she's not even the target nor is it HER Middle name. Then she says "Julius...I think your focus should be comforting Bluebell. She's no doubt had a scare."

His voice is quieter, but a tight, clipped tone. "I've half a mind to go after him and give him a piece of my mind."

"Against a trained knight? A sidhe with title, who could take offense, duel you, and possibly hurt you." It's not a question, an observation, "You know damned well that's not your battlefield, and what's more, it would traumatize Bluebell more if you got hurt. " A look to her mom, "Mother, has this knight's visit ended? Is he no longer a guest?"

"He's still a friend of your Lord, for all that he's packed up." She says, a hint of caution in her tone. "He's on the trail after that Jabber-monster he and Lavender scared off, and from there, who knows - I suspect back to his normal rounds. We will probably not see him again soon."

Hospitality no longer protects him. WHich does not mean I'd win if it came to a fight. I'm still new to the Dreaming myself, sained or not. She sees her mother's look, "Does the Baron know about this? Does the Baroness?"

"Lady Nadeen is expected back later today, she went with Pyschka on a diplomatic visit to deliver that pup to the Lord of Shining Mountain barony." Naming the Varich holding over in Montana. "Lord Aiden is speaking with Bluebell now."

A breath "Good. I... the Chieftain loves Butternut." Then a guilty look crosses her features "Sorry, Mom. I forgot my manners" She takes off her gaunlets, and starts to put the food the DeBukes gave them away and help "Julius.... why don't you ask mom what she thinks can be done with those clothes for Bluebell? Now more than ever it might cheer her"

Gladiola looks to the THane, "Thane Dancia, I'm not sure I thanked you for healing Ivan. If I didn't, please, let me know. Thank you. "

And she glances to Ivan "You fought to protect Bluebell, didn't you boy? I'm so proud. Who's a brave boy? You are!"

Muppet is moping in the kitchen - he didn't get to go for mac-n-cheese.

"Muppet's still here?" A look of surprise, and then a smile

Ivan woofs appreciatively at the praise, standing up proud.

Julius, meanwhile, has left the room - to search for the Baron and Bluebell, it seems.

Danica smiles to Gwen. "Of course. He is a warrior of Silverwolf."

"Yes he is." She says "I hope to get the full story of his amazing efforts, and, of course how and what the others did in detail. "

"You should speak to Dame 'Lavender. She was there." Danica nods.

She also realizes she should give her own report, though with neither Baron or Baroness here she'll likely have to repeat it. "I will. As for Julius and my part. I'd say it went splendidly. Butternut and Chieftain Clem bonded quickly, and while the CHieftain seems delighted with her farm's newest dog, I am sure Butternut won't be coddled. Rather she'll be kept in fit form and farmwork as well as guarding." A beat "Even if I suspect the Baron winces a bit at 'Butternut' as a use name"

Marigold looks delighted, on the other hand. "Is that fresh Iowa produce I see in that basket, come now, pass it over, I'll make something special to honor our warriors. Maybe tomorrow, the wee lambs have already gone home tonight."

"It is..." She hands it over dutifully "And Julius, well, before he got the news here, seemed in high spirits. I think he really sold the DeBUkes on wine and they might buy a few from him in time. He's also going to get some Spring lessons. I'm sure there will be a kind of price on that but they're flexible"

It would appear the DeBukes didn't just throw their usual into the basket, but picked things that might not be in season or as easy to get in Upper New York state! A fresh supply that would save the Steward a trip to the grocery story paying more than she should have to
