"The Moscow Water dog. Yes, I am familiar with that... experiment." He shakes his head. "While these breeds can be aggressive, the key term in their names to remember is that they are not called "Attack Dogs", nor "Fighting Dogs". They are 'Guardian' dogs. The sweetest amongst them will be a fiend unleashed if their person is threatened. And yet..."

He considers. "When I was planning this breed, there was another dog I considered. The Maremma Sheepdog. They are a large, majestic, and powerful breed. More compact than the Ovcharka, built of clean lines and thick, glossy white fur. Intelligent and commanding... which, in the end, was the downfall. A Maremma is a guardian, yes, but they are bred to guard flocks. They are so intelligent and independent that they will not obey any orders from one they do not respect. They are built to be loners, to watch over their sheep, and to fight and protect them when needs be without a handler to guide them. However, these very traits make them impossible for a companion dog, or even a guardian for any but the strictest and most commanding leaders. I bred for loyalty over command.

That said, from what you have said, an Ovcharka alone might not work for you. However, these pups are half Pyrenees, and that has sweetened their temperament further.

I believe that either of these two..." He gestures to the 'powdered donut' pups who are currently playfully tugging at a scrap of leather, "Would make fine companion dogs, both on the trod, and in the home."
