"Ivan is adorable beggging and.." She shuts up, pulls out a paper and takes notes

"Maybe there's some in the back storage rooms?"

"Maybe, I dunno."

"I'm going to talk to Ted - he's a wastrel. I mean, based on what Gareth said, he is CONSIDERED one. He does vandalism, but as an art style?"

"With aerosolized paint."

"Graffiti. Like Banksy, though, not a tagger."

"You can make money at that?"

SHe takes more notes

A scowl.

"It's not about making money."

"But you're the one who mentioned banks...." He looks confused.

"Banksy is a name, not a building.. ad he's amazing"

"No, no. No. Banksy's an artist."

"As in, Lance says he will 'make bank' at this online currency... thing... OH. Oh. I'm sorry."

"But there are others, too. Right, Gwen?"

"Yes.. " She lists the names

Flynn, she knows!

"Actually, isn't that one that you mentioned?" Art nods towards a desk over towards the windows, one of the girls there is a 'plastic' looking Blonde who is half-listening, snapping bubblegum, and scribbling or doodling in the margins of her text.

"Uh... Karen?"

He nods!

Leaning over, he peers at Gwen's and his own, notes, and softly reads off, "What I did was pointless, and I should go back to painting my nails instead." Thistle can hear Mr Blaine in the words, though Art's tone is gentle.

Flickering spirals, conflicting emotions and a fierce scowl.

"He's an (&%&_)O&."

"yeah..." A nod

"There's a sophomore, Randy... he said... his work would be a waste of the judge's time. And Flynn? His were 'lazy and sloppy'..."

"I tried talking to him... before..." Flicker - grey.

"What did he say about your work? You can tell us."

"...waste of material. Misshapen, formless, sloppy..."

"Brilliant, inventive, creative." Art stabs the paper in front of him to punctuate each word.

The flare of anger is gone, and she's pushing fingertips against the table's surface again.

"Do you remember seeing Randy or Flynn in your classes, or working on stuff in any of the art rooms? Before?

Gwen keeps writing "wasn't tha long ago I was the new girl"

"Um."

Trina can remember seeing them in the art halls before. Karen always fiddling with ink - even though it stained her fingers. Flynn, on a fancy laptop in the corner. Randy? Painting... something? Well, he always was raiding the paint cabinets, and requesting new colors, new paints...

"Randy painted stuff."

"Like... not canvases, but stuff."

She writes that down "The problem is, some are..hurtig, driven a bit gray. So hhopefully we can keep them from becomingg like him"

Art frowns a little, and nods. "Maybe once, he was like one of those kids. Until someone got to him. It's too late for him now, but we can help them."

gwen looks tempted to say sometthing

"Flynn was digital, I think."

"Games? He plays games with Brett.

She writes that down

"Karen did these really cool lithographs. I have one of her t-shirts..."

"So that's paints, games, graffiti, clay, lith... lithographs? How do we combine them into a cohesive whole?"

"That's what I was saying - it's a show."

"So... manipulate the gallery display. Um."

"Juxtaposition, right?"

"Or maybe, it's not whole. Perhaps as a frame, a trash can?" He considers, "Graffiti often has words on it, does it not, in alleys and such? A dumpster? Not a real one, it can be... mocked, or implied? And the other elements, in the trash?"

"Like - yeah, maybe."

He looks to Gwen. "What do you think, O Wise Elder?"

"But I was thinking, you have the art, and then you set it off with the quote?"
