"Then we must be equally blessed. Hmmph!" She says, but the indignation is clearly feigned. "So, now, those pups. Any plans on where they might be sent? Or any that might be kept?"

"Oh I fear I have put AIden in a situation. He sees merit in the new breed, and yet he must give two of them up. Fortunately with 10, he'll have his picks and then some. If he can offer the DeBukes something for their trade, he might have nine.. . but nine IS a bit much to keep.. so somewill be sold to his contacts he trusts. Perhaps an offer to Earth Runes. That said.. I am sure a few WILL be kept. "

"Two pups is quite a fee, when the normal agreement for stud costs is only one. Yet I feel confident in saying that he may well have paid that and more for this breed. And having two pups at... well, not allied holds, but holds that at least might be said to have cordial relations, more so than just a straight sale? May give options for future litters as well. I'm no dog expert, but I suspect that one litter does not a new breed make!"

"It doesn't... I know this because Dame Gladiola and he ggot to talking for an HOUR .... and would have gone on more. They were DEEP in talk about how the health of the breed must be a prioirty even over looks, but if looks were possible to be altered, the possibility of something distinctive like getting the White Silver of a Great Pyrenes but with dark fur highlights of the Ovcharka "

But despite her teasing about the fixation for dogs and Ailil pride, she smiles

"Oh yes, and not impossible I hear...just imagine someone like Pyscha" a stroke of her dog"But with more contrast." Psychka has , of course, been aware of new life in the area, puppies, but mother only tolerates SO much nosiness even from her other now grown pups

"Oh you're good" She beams, "Yes, my Ovcharka is, naturally, the best Ovcharka. Of course, Gwen might quietly dispute that. They are an agrressive breed, but well trained and I'm glad I have her. I was walking her the other day while shopping a market. Some fellow cat called me and Pyschka gave a VERY low growl and long look and the man slipped off"

"Come to think of it, she growls when ever a man who isn't the baron flirts too much with me" A suspicious look "You don't think Aiden would teach her to.... no no.. surely not"

"I think that if m'lord thought someone was making inappropriate overtures towards you, he'd want to break their hands himself."

"I can use a sword" She assures, "or just slap a man.... still, his protective nature is sweet. And in my heart of hearts, I must confess I'd be just as protective if roles were reversed. Mmm.. two weeks old, their eyes will be opening soon."

Marigold beams. "I do love puppies, when they're all small and sweet, almost as nice as babies, when they're all little and chubby.

"Well then, let Gwen show them off to you when they're ready. She'll be thrilled to do so. " She ponders "Has Art shown any affection for the dogs? I know Thistle likes Muppet some, though otherwise she's merely tolerant of canines... and she almost flees when Dame Lavender goes on about horses"

She's giving Nadeen a bit of an appraising look.

She looks down at her self, then says "I'm sidhe, so it can't be my hair"

"Oh, nothing, dear. I don't think I've seen Art really giving the animals more than a cursory glance. Were you looking for help with the wee birdies still?"

"BLossom has been doing very well, but she's just a childling.. I think she maybe come, one day, as fine a hawker as Calanthe, but I wouldn't object to more.." Realization "Ah, you think with his love of the stars and sky he might warm to it?"

"To be honest, I've not seen him look twice at anything other than the stars, the moon, or the books, but it can't hurt to wave things at him until something sticks!"

"I don't really know what to do with him some days," She admits "But I'm hoping the library idea will work. And yes, I'll see what he thinks of falconry."

"Give him some time, he'll find himself. At saining, if not before. If you ask me, I think that the bit of a fuss about his host was tough on him. The boy doesn't seem to have a very close connection to his mortal memories. Now, I'm no Shining Host to tell, but let's just say he's lucky to have Thistle, oh and my Gwen too of course, to help him along the way."

"Oh Gwen is so ..trolly some days." A huff "Takes every step back with anyone as ap ersonal failing on her part. Forgive me for fussing about your daughter but some times I think she needs to enjoy being a teenager" Then a thought "As for Thistle? They're both good for each other, she and art. She's damaged, he's lost."

"She's not damaged!" Marigold bristles in the girl's defense, and then colors a bit and bobs a bit of a curtsy. "Begging m'lady's pardon. She was hurt, assuredly, but she'll recover."

A brow lifts, "forgiven. I possibly did use the wrong term. Marigold, tell me... does Art feel any romantic interest towards the girl?"

Marigold chuckles. "He is as clueless as a duck in the henhouse. I hope when he figures it out, he either treats her well, or lets her down gently."

"Mmmph" She sighs "Poor Thistle.. I know you do not like the term damaged but.. to use yours.. she has been hurt in area. I definitely hope this doesn't hurt her in another. "

"He does see her as a good friend, though, which is good. He doesn't have a lot of... mmm,. It's not a lack of trust, really, just... he is wary, not very ready to let people in. He'll loosen up."

"More reason to ease his family tensions" A nod "As for Thistle... fine. You tell me how she's doing? How in need of help is she? She has a kiln. I had hoped she'd use it more than I've seen but my approaching her about it seems to send her into full retreat"

"She'll come around. Perhaps trying more different things will make it easier for her to come back to her earlier joys. I wonder if any of the kids might enjoy a big of clay? Perhaps she might supervise?"
