Rochallor digs through the hold looking for an envelope
Possibly in Julius study, or what he uses as a study. Desk drawers opened

Julius's office is already a bit of controlled chaos, so it takes a while to find anything - though the steward could have produced it in seconds, if asked.

Why... why are they in a box under a pair of slippers? Do Satyr even WEAR slippers? Never the less, Rochallor finds them, as well as stamps!

These envelops are pre-filled with the Return Address of the stablery business, but ready to send otherwise.

He tries to find an empty one...and puts a 'to adress' of 'Santa Claus, North Pole'

They all have empty "To" addresses! There's even blank paper, a quality stationary with the Silverwolf letterhead and a silvery horse watermark

Dear Santa... As it is better to give than recieve... I offer to gift myself and my friend joe as a son for a mom and a dad, they have to be kinda like me...' he writes on a peace of paper he snatches from the quality stationary and they have to live near Ickytha New York...which is quite old. I know I have not always been on your nice list, but I'm in training so maybe some beautiful nice sweett mother could take care of me and give joe kisses on the head at nigght before bed, and some dad could lob a ball at my head so I hafta catch it or Joe will get whammd in the nogggan. I am willing to lissen to bed time stories

He sticks his tongue to the side of his mouth as he writes, hoping Santa doesn't mind bad spellers, then continues I hope this helps with the son shortage, which as you know, is dire! Should more people want a girl, I offer up blossom, but you might not thank me. I found her in my naughy faze and I try to help her, but Joe is just a little kid so sometimes we're not sure we're doing things right. I kind of havee a sistere in her, along with Brrr-Yi-Ah! He blinks as this fancy pen looks a bit leaky. He shakes it

Ink splatters from the fountain pen as it's shaken, but luckily is mostly hits some unimportant paperwork, not the letter.

He wipes his brow in relieve, possibly trailing a bit of ink on his forehead "That was close, huh joe?" He asks himself and blows on the letter after putting the quill back. He eyeballs it to make sure it's dry and won't get smudged. Santa is old and needs glasses

When the letter seems dry, he puts it into the envelope, and looks for a dolt

The Baron is walking about - or rather, pacing.

Of course, he could always keep looking.

Then he approaches the Baron, "Your barronalship? I have to put mail out into the cold. It's been misbehavingg"

Aiden stops mid stride, and looks down to the boy. "Mail, you say?" He extends a hand for the envelope.

He hands it over "When they come, no hunting the reindeer. Tell the terriers"

"Who would you need to mail- " He pauses mid sentence. "Ah. I will see that this is sent out express. Thank you for entrusting it to me, Rochallor." With all serious demeanor.

"And no. No hound of mine, no vassal of mine would dream of hunting those reindeer."

"Not even Bri-grrr?"

"No, Rochallor. Not even Briar. I would pass her over to Krampus myself, and not as a lackey, but to be put in his sack and thrashed with reeds until she thought better of it. And even worse, she would miss out on the Christmas goose, the holiday roast, Marigold's plum pudding, amongst other things." He says, his voice pitched to carry just in case any Redcaps are snooping about.

From behind them, "Sounds furkin great, and Marigold probably knows what Connor likes... speaking of that, Baron, sorry to intrude, but did you want me to build anything special for when your son visits? Like a play maze for the childlings? Still working on the Never project with Thistle"

Baron Aiden looks surprised, and goes a bit stiff. He asks, "Connor? Why would he be coming for a visit?"

"OOooo ... play maze? Will there be minataurs instead of centaurs?" Roch bounces

"Well, I figgured Yule he'll be at the old R and V, but for Christmas day you'd want your son... " the nocker shrugs

"And I bet he'd love it. Pups should be wigglin by then" Wudlig says

"Is your son, Joe's age?"

The Baron straightens up, and his expression is stormy, something flashing in his eyes as he gives Wudlig a sharp look and starts to say something - then bites it off. "I am sure that your work requires attention, Journeyman." He says in it's place.

Wudlig bows Okay, that didn't work as well as Marigold said it would. I must have screwed the pooch o the approach "Of course, my lord. I await your orders for Christmas plans as pleases. Your pardon" And he bows again, and moves off

Rochollar looks confused, then pats the Baron's hand, "Did he say something bad? Do I need to have blossom step on his toes?"

The baron looks down at Rochallor, and says, "No, Rochallor. But Wudlig does not understand. My... Squire Connor made his decision, and chose to stay with his Gwydion Knight, over- over Silverwolf. He does not wish to be here, so I shall not send an invitation that may be construed as a order."

He sighs, and gives the boy a pat on the shoulder. "It is... complicated. I am going to go for a ride."

Rochalorr nods "Remember to wear a saddle so whoever is on you doesn' hurt your back"

A blink, and a moment to process. "The care of the mount is the duty of the rider, Rochallor. I am sure that both shall be fine." He turns to the door, then turns back, "Stablemaster Dolph praises your work with the foals. We are lucky to have you, lad."

The Baron heads out, letter still in hand.

A blush. Then he nods, and goes to the phone

Briar moves into the room. She scowls. "What was that all about? Why'd you gotta bring me into things?"

She was eavesdropping, it seems, and quite unashamedly.

"Shhh... " he waves her off , "I must obey my liege's" And the phone rings. When SOMEONE at Rivervale picks up, he tries a much more adult voice "Hello? This is Silverwolf hold. Baron Aiden would like his son to choice HIM for Christmas Day. Thank you." Then he hangs up

Briar watches with a hand on her hip. "Why you gotta fuck with things? You're just gonna make 'em mad."

"He SAID he wanted his son to choose him" Rocholar says "Maybe Santa will put me on the good list now so I'll get Rents of my own?"

"Why would you want THAT?" Briar laughs. "THat's just more people who think they can boss you around and tell you what to do! We've got a sweet gig here, don't hex it up."

Rocholar looks surprised "Don'tt you want a mom or dad?"

"They're good for storybook reading, and if you smile real big they give you snacks"

"Why would I need one? I got the whole bloddy hold breathin' down my neck! At least this way, everyone thinks I'm someone else's problem most of the time." She seems proud of this setup.

"Hey, wanna go see if Misch' will let us peek at the puppies? She's less grumpy these days, and maybe we can sneak a look if I bring her a steak."

"Oh well, puppies" He scoffs "So boring.. so yes?" Hopeful. Still, he does not regret his letter to Santa

"Maybe I'll write a letter too. Though I shouldn't have to write things if I ain't at school."
