Oh my. Marigold might not know that laptops should be kept uncovered so that they don't overheat, but the cozy she crocheted around Nadeen's is rather cute after all. Maybe just use it when the machine isn't on.

News... news... Not MUCH, in fact. At least, not in the prominent news. After all, this isn't Florida where the law requires all sundry reports to be made public.

Clicking around though... she remembers the name of another small paper, one that might get dismissed as a scandal rag. 'Carthage Courant', wasn't it?

"...escorted from their home not by police, as have oft been called out due to complaints about their off-lead and ill-trained hounds, but this time by emergency services. Sources close to the family say that both Eunice and Arnold Flenderson suffered 'psychiatric episodes' leading to the arrival of emergency services. Surely thoughts and prayers of all us Courant Citizens shall be with them.

...Flenderson name is not unknown to politics in the Carthage circles, as vitriolic proponents of bringing in engineers to review the local undeeded lands for large-scale infrastructure and fracking potential. City Council members will certainly miss their voices raised in argument and dissent.

In a fairly transparent attempt to forestall further investigation, it seems that the land of the Flenderson estate has been deeded to the city as parkland by the family. Carthage humane has rescued several ill-treated animals from their property as well, which will be up for adoption at the local humane society following veterinary and temperament review....

...Speculation is that the homestead property may soon be up for sale? The Flenderson 'eyesore' may be a bit of a fixer upper, but for those with funds who want to hob-nob with the upper crusts of Carthage Society, a secluded forest mansion seems to be the 'new hotness' for the Carthage elite."
