Thistle's resolve, it seems, is limited.

She motors over to the freehold after school on Friday, to go look at the kiln setup. Kodger was doing it wrong, she's sure of it.

So...

She'll just check it out.

This needs fixing!

And so, she quietly slips into the kiln area without much fuss.

Looks like the pipes haven't been enclosed yet, but she'll still have to work to reach them

She grumbles to herself as she squeezes through to get a closer look.

Yup, the flow won't work up right as it is.

Mumble-grumble.

A steady stream of expletives as she tinkers about.

Fortunately, she's studied the Kiln at school, not just to work with it, but how the shape works

Mumble-grumble, idjit mumble-grumble, naar.

She pulls out a section of pipe, and works to rearrange them.

Those clever hands the nevers like move with expertise.

Now, some of her fixes are... unorthodox...

Well, if it works, it works! And there are spare parts and pipes here going to waste

Of course, the banging and clanging will carry... fixing pipework is not quiet

Indeed, hoofbeats, and, a figure peeks in, Rochalor "Joe thought he heard somethin"

"Well, good news. Joe ain't deaf." Thistle is wedged under a section of pipe, working to loosen a bolt.

"Are you gonna blow us up?"

"The opposite. Unless you annoy me too much."

"Gulp" He says "Uhm... would you like a grand olda bar?"

"I'm okay."

"The idjits who installed this, THEY was gonna blow someone up."

"We have terrorists?" He blinks "They're worse than roaches!"

"Nah, just dumbasses."

the boy nods

"Can you hand me that wrench?"

"But I've never even kissed a girl" But he hands it over

"Kissing is overrated." Working as she talks.

"You're a kid, you should be playing, not worried about kissing."

"Well, I Played with Briar, but she is touchy about her shoes being tied"

A laugh. "Well, Briar sure ain't for kissing!"

"that's how the Sphinx lost it's nose" he nods and nods!

"That.. y'know, could be? I've seen a grownup redcap."

"Heh. Yeah. Hold this." She plops a fitting in his hands.

He holds it "Don't worry, Sherriff, it won'tt do a jailbreak"

"Dunno, you never know with faerie schtunk." Rochallor proves an efficient perch for a few of the Nevers.

He eyes the nevers, or tries too, hard looking through his skull "The door is a jar, my head is a lid"

"Like, there wasthis talking pumpkin earlier this week..."

"I'm not sure I want to join your Church, Linus, but go on"

"It was trying to eat a rodent."

"That's kosher?" He makes a gag sound

"I saved the squirrel, but I ain't the woodland creature police."

"Did your deputies help?" He points to a Never

One of the Nevers tugs curiously at Rochallor's tail, swish swish!
