A bell RINGS, startling Arty! It's LOUD and unexpected!

"We need to go..." She speaks, Chuck needs protecting and fledges need a talking to..

She feels like she's out of an embarrassingly intimate dream that's been shared , and fights a blush

Trina is still staring, helpless.

"Alright champs, don't be late on your first day. Locklear, don't forget, practice after school today." Coach Tammy heads over to break up the huddle!

"You got it, Coach" She calls out

Arty, distracted, lets the glamour fade. Flynn blinks, and then realizes he's kneeling in gum. "Ugh!"

And she gives Chuck "See you later. I've got Chemistry" And she moves to take Trina's shoulder "Glad you've got it too" And she looks at art "Come on, Art"

Blink, Blink. "Right. Shit. Chem."

"Ah. Yes." Arty starts to follow them, and stumbles. "It's.. fuzzy in here." He's not wearing his glasses, is he? He squints, which doesn't help him look any better now that the glamour has drained.

"Where are your glasses?"

"I did not wish to wear them. They are not a stylish accessory?"

"They're necessary for those who are near or far sighted, like you" She says, then lowers her voice "Arthur, do not pull that stunt too often. It's draining, and frankly can draw the wrong sort of attention. "

"They were being disrespectful!" He argues back.

"It's not about style, it's about seeing. What's gotten into you?"

"Yes, they were being jerks, but you can't throw that stuff around lightly. " SHe says , oh this is going to come out isn't it "Like it or not, you're still a fledge. So trust me to know what I'm talking about"

Arty opens his mouth, then closes it, frowning. "You are correct. You are the one with wisdom on this battlefield."

"Into me? I... got into.. me?" He is a bit perplexed by the question.

"You're acting weird. Not like you."

"Look, the classroom, we shoudl go in" Gwen says helpfully and hoping to avoid the whole 'I took Arty's body and he's out there somewhere between Neverland and Narnia' talk

He heads in, and starts for a table near the front.

A worried look at Trina "he's going to set in the front?"

"Arty, c'mon..." she hooks his arm to guide him to a less conspicuous table.

"But I can see better from there." He states - none the less letting her guide him to the middle-back.

Gwen takes a seat near both fledges. Suddenly understanding how Ivan feels when she orders him to watch some smaller creature and keep it out of trouble

Gwen sits up right and tries not to think how this dinky desk is tearing into her furshulunkin calves

or woudl be if not for stone protection

"Yeah, well, remember your glasses tomorrow."

The teacher heads in, a middle-aged woman with hair back in a bun. She picks up a pointed and taps it on the front whiteboard, that says, simply, CHEMISTRY.

"Okay, Class - Chemistry is the study of... What?" Looking around. "Anyone?"

Now is not the time to draw attention. Trina doodles in her notebook.

Gwen looks attentive but also silent

Arty raises his hand.

"Yes?" The teacher calls on him.

"Chemicals." He answers, with a wise nod.

Snickers from around the class.

"Well, he ain't wrong" Gwen says in a supporting if still low mutter

The teacher smiles, shaking her head.

"Chemicals... No. Change. Chemistry is the study of change."

A pause, letting them process. "Think about it. Electrons change their orbits, molecules change their bonds. Elements combine and change into compounds. That's all of life, right? The constant..." A shrug.

"The cycle. Solution, dissolution, over and over! Growth, decay. Transformation. It's fascinating, really." The teacher seems to be nearly speaking to herself, a pep talk, but.. she's really into it.

Realizing that no one else seems to be following, she sighs, and taps the board once more.

"Alright, ionic bonds. Open to Chapter 1."

Arty nods, intrigued... and Mrs. White's class goes on.

Mrs. White seems okay!

Arty.... still ain't right.

Actually, Gwen kind of liked the talk, but it would be terribly uncool to admit it. Something almost shamanistic about the idea. Maybe this is going to be better than Biology II after all, she almost took that instead

Briar will be sad that she's not dissecting the fetal pig, though.

And books are opened. Ionic bonds. Okay... but Gwen might be just a bit distracted by keeping half an eye on the fledges. Troll protect

Oddly, some of this just makes MORE sense than Trina expected...

When class ends, she looks over at Mrs White and says in a low voice "GOod speech, Mrs White, but don't tell anyone I said so. I'd lose cool points" Sheepish

The teacher, looking over her lesson plans, looks up, and gives Gwen a smile, brightening just a bit. "Why, thank you." She returns to her papers, but it looks like Gwen may have just lightened up her day.

On the way out, Arty comments, "I thought this would be Alchemical, but they seem to have forgotten about half the proper protective measures..."

And that's how Gwen likes it. She realizes she LIKES helping folks in small ways. Kindness is cheap, why not give it generously? She moves to follow Art and Katrina

"No protective circles... no salt..."

"Oh, there's gonna be salt for sure."

"Bit of a different thing from.. come on. We'll earn ten points for Hufflepuff later"

She hitches her backpack up higher on her shoulder and hurries steps a bit past the art room.

"There is no such House!" He says, somewhat affronted.
