"Yes?" A look over her shoulder "I take very good care of my hooves" proud

"Can't clean 'em yourself though, can ya?"

"It's easier if I have help," she says "But I soak them nightly in hot herbal waters meant to dissolve filth and give luster"

"Mm. Not bad."

"Yeah, I can make you shiney shoes."

She moves along Blossom's side and signals a lift to the rear hoof.

And so the next comes up "Course, I have work to do too. I'm a hard worker" Proud "So sometimes fancy shoes might not be what i need."

"What work do you do?" it might come out "What work do YOU do?"

"Well," the young girl says ready to recite "I fetch messages and help in the stables, I'm also strong for a childling so I have carted things though I am not of draft stock. Helped Marigold in the kitchen, and once I caddyied for Dame Calanthe"

"Sounds useful." the metalworker observes.

One hand on Blossom's rump (not in a weird way)and around the other side to the opposite rear hoof. Lean-and-lift.

The girl IS fit, her horse parts comparable to a throughbred in good condition

Aaannnnddd..... Willy checks that last hoof on the front.

ALL good.. Willy's got the measurements. No cracks.

"Yeah, I kin make 'em. Two sets, one pretty, one for work?"

"Work shoes sound like standard shoes."

"That would be wonderful, Craftsperson Willy!" Prim nod then a thought "Or do you prefer Craftswoman Willy? or Smith Willy?"

"Just.... Willy."

"Well, thank you, Willy" she gives a BIG charming smile, or her best attempt at it "When should I return for the fitting?"

"You ever been shoed before?"

(Willy would have seen the signs if Blossom -had- been shod, but she asks.)

"Well," She admits "Not properly. I was worried it might damage the luster of my hooves..."

A snort. "Kay. Before I bother making shoes, you gonna watch a shoeing. THEN decide."

"Okay" She wrinkles her nose

"But.. " A fussy look crosses her features then "I want the Baron to see how GOOD I am being by doing the right things"

Blossom gets a Sahara-dry look. "He sees it."

MUCH relief "Thank you" a bit primly then some advice "You should come out more. Couped up in here you barely get any attention at all" And who wouldn't want attention??

"Anyone who's not a flibbertygibbet?" she snorts "Got work to do, -important- work."

"Yes" She agrees with that last "My shoes ARE important" A pause "But.. how do you get work if you just hide in here and never find out what folks want until they finally come to you? Don't you get bored waiting for that? Dame Calanthe always said one must seize the moment and make it her own"

"Yeah, and look where it got her."

"I got my -own- work to do, and Baron said it was ok to work on it.So when I don't work to pay my way, I work on my -own- stuff."

A gasp at the hurtful (truthful) thing the Nocker said about Calanthe, "Fine. Work on it then" She huffs and turns racing out, tears on her face

"What the furk is WRONG with everyone around here?!?!"

Dolph, passing by, gives her a shrug. "No telling."

The hostler may be her favorite of the fae of the hold - for a boggan, he is decidedly UN-talkative. Then again, he does hear whatever anyone says around the horses when he's about.

"So the nobels are playing drama-llama, what do we care?"

“Work’s still gotta get done. Most nobles don’t take much notice till it isn't.”

A snort. "Got that right."

“It’s the kids that change is hardest on. They don't know how, or don’t understand why, it’s just things got shook up.”

He sighs, and keeps pulling his rake, cleaning up the loose hay that has made it's way to the doorway of the workshop.

"Yeah, well. Don't have kids, myself."

"Doncha? They're around, s'long as you're here. Dang things hear as much as a sluagh and talk as much as..." A chuckle, and he shrugs amicably.

"Never really understood the whole biological clock thing. An' if there's kids around that's fine long as they stay outta my shop."

With the shop's door open, a cookie floats out.. rich with cream

Dolph watches this... and a bushy brow goes UP.

and it curves around the corner

An amused sound. "Best watch out that your drivin' hammer isn't the next thing to float off."

Then munching sounds

"Don't no one with any sense touch a nocker's tools."
