They hurry - carefully! - down the hall and around the corner to a locker, which Kat quickly opens - not as fast as she might have, as she fumbles the combination a couple times nervously.

Opening the box - it is too wide to fit in the locker, they'll have to unpack it... is an entire collection of glazed and crazed clay creations. None of them are a great and noted masterpiece to be heavy with dross, but each one glimmers just a bit with potential. It feels almost like a warm breeze wafting out, or the scent of something sweet carried on a puff of air from the kitchen - after the chilly feeling of the art room.

As Chuck and Kat start carefully setting each piece into the locker, the bell rings - they are now officially late for the next class, and soon the hall monitors will be roaming.

"Hand me those last two..." Kat ventures nervously, shooting a glance at Gwen with uncertainty.

A teacher is striding down the hall towards them - just as Kat snaps the locker shut just in time. Gwen recognizes him, it's the art instructor, Mr. Blaine. As if she could mistake that aura elsewhere.

"Oh no. No no." Pipes a tinny, tiny voice from within the box.

The box Gwen thought she just emptied.

"We were just getting rid of the trash from the kiln room, like you asked." Chuck, noticing Gwen falter a little, steps forward - and then he colors to his ears.

"And then, uh, Kat had to, uh. Stop to help Gwen. With her female. Things."

The teacher steps forward and shoots a glance down into the box... searching... but then nods. "You got rid of those insipid pieces. Good."

Chuck nods. "Crushed up for slip like you instructed. We were just taking the box, for, uh. Recycling."

Gwen watches her shoes, the very image of a young woman who is embarrassed by motherr nature

A painfully long moment as the teacher frowns, looking at the locker, only to have Kat hesitantly offer, "I have pads you can borrow - " Reaching to start entering the locker code, and the teacher nods, turning away.

"Hurry up then, and get to class. Chesterton, you have my study hall, come with me."

Chuck gives Gwen a helpless glance as he follows the teacher, and mimes tapping a phone - he'll text her...

And Gwen is left alone in the hallway with Kat.

then.. she turns to Kat and whispers "Well, there's a card I can't play often. Kat, did I just help with a crime?"

Kat watches the teacher go until he's out of sight, and then turns to Gwen. "They weren't his pieces. And I know the clay belongs to the school, but we're SUPPOSED to make things out of it. He can't just.. just decide he doesn't like what people made and toss it all into the slip bucket."

Despite her protest, it sounds like the teacher had attempted just that. Slip - the glue used in clay working, made from crushing bone-dry pottery pieces and mixing them with water.

A nod "I hear you. And.. I think you're right, but I need you to open a box again.." thinking of what she heard "I think I dropped sometthin in it"
