The sound of soft footsteps approaching, and Calanthe enters the clearing. She looks a bit tired - though lovely none-the-less, as sidhe must.

"Aiden, this is where you got yourself off to. I've been searching for you."

Blossom turns to see the other sidhe lady ,and tries for a bow

Calanthe watches - perhaps she would have smirked, but the new girl DID bow to her unprompted, and that warrants a smile of appreciation.

"Yes, Cally? You of course remember Blossom." Aiden turns to greet her.

"Very pleased to meet you," Blossom gapes. They're all so pretty, the elf people

Footsteps of yet another approaching

Calanthe smiles a little more at that. "My name is Dame Calanthe Falkoner ap Ailil. I am a Knight, and Chancellor here. You may call me Lady, or Dame." Perhaps surprisingly, Calanthe doesn't seem particularly antagonistic towards the new young centaur. It may be a proprietary feeling. This is Silverwolf's centaur, their prize.

"Very pleased to meet you, Lady," Still in awe

Nadeen enters the scene as if it were a stage

Blossom feels something nudging her softly.

She looks to see who what is nudging?

Arwen the fae mare on one side of her... she bobs her head and then slowly bows, letting her forelegs bend just so that her front section dips. On the other side, here is Bluebell! The pooka offers a hand to Blossom to steady her to stay upright if she tries the motion, and she curtseys elegantly at the same time, as Nadeen approaches.

She bows to the other lady as well. WOW.

Having turned to see who approached, Calanthe misses this.

Aiden, on the other hand, notices, and gives a small, approving nod.

Blossom definitely responds well to praise

Aiden looks towards Nadeen, but Calanthe reached him first - after all, she was already present. He draws his gaze back to the Chancellor, and asks, "How are the hawks today?"

She frowns. "Middling. All of ours recovered from the hunt, but that new bird, I am uncertain of."

Nadeen inquires, "Chancellor, the birds are your province, and I would not presume otherwise but if you'd like, I could ask Bridge Sylvi to cast some spring magics on their scraps of food?"

A little surprised when Nadeen speaks up, but mollified by her deference. "The new hawk may just need more time. He is surly." Calanthe is wearing long gloves, a little odd in the summer warmth.

Nadeen nods at this

"Vespa is not helping." She says, but with a bit of a grin. "She is preening and acting like she is the size of a Harpy Eagle."

"I thought I was imagining that" Nadeen blushes "She's been deeply smug. I approach her and she looks at me as if to see if i'm 'on the list'" Amusement

"I may need to house the hunter in another mews. Perhaps a trade with Sir Sergei. Luckily, he does not seem to be mourning his companion, but rather, sulking at his loss in battle. The latter can be salvaged. The former, less often."

"Maybe the two birds can work together and become friends?" That was.. from the centaur girl who just suddenly felt sorry for the bird who must feel unimportant

Calanthe considers the girl curiously. "Would you wish to be friends with someone who tried to kill you? Granted, it was in honest battle - both hawks were tools, and not to be judged by their wielders, in this. And, if you had lost? The hawks are smart, but they are prideful. It pains them to feel such shame."

"Well, uhm.. I don't like being ignored either. No one does? " She blushes as she admits her vanity a touch, "But lady, maybe if you gave it a new mission with the other bird working with it, it would be a success for both?" A nervous scratch of hoof "or is that silly?"

She gives this some thought. "It is not silly. However, missions should be tailored for the success of those being sent, unless the goal is for them to learn from failure. Hawks are seldom social animals... but this one, the one I have simply been calling Hunter? He is a Harris Hawk. He may miss hunting with a kettle."

"What's a kettle?" The girl asks but then adds, "Please, Lady"

"A kettle is what a group of raptors - of birds of prey - is called. Chickens come in flocks. Raptors, when they are in groups, are kettles."

"Neat" She shines

Nadeen smiles "It is neat," An agreement

(Elsewhere) "Briar, I'm telling you, theyre thinking of getting a seamstress! or something.. you know what that means? Dame Calanthe wants social events. Baroness Nadeen likes them... it's one of the few things they seem to agree on. And official' court seamstress'? We're gonna end up in dresses"

Gwen is worried

"Fuck no we ain't. Or at least I ain't. You're going to high school, don't they all do dances and shit anyways? Now, me? I can eat my weight in fancy silk until they can't AFFORD to doll me up no more. Sorry, toots. If it's you or me, I'll throw you to the wolves. "

At least Briar is HONEST?

"Gee...what a joy you are" Dryly "I'm a tall girl, tall girls look STUPID in dresses... like circus tents"

Briar looks up at her. And laughs! "No kiddin! At least you don't look like someone took a bulldog to a fashion show for poodles."

"Don't worry, they have My Little Dress-up over there to play with."

"Don't see what the big DEAL is. It's just like, you know, a stretched out Satyr, and they're only good for three things - rhythm, runnin' and ruttin'." Briar says, but is sounds like she is perhaps parroting something she heard someone else say.

"Who did you hear that from?" A brow

A shrug. "No one."

"Doesn't make a lot of sense though. Ain't that what pigs do? When they shove their snouts in the dirt. Ruttin'."

"Uhm.. acttually Ruttin isn't that polite a term annd sometimes it's usedd for .. other things " A blush

"Ah, you mean, like." She makes a face. "Smoochin' and shit. Ain't nobody got time for THAT. Try to smooch a 'cap and you'll be lucky to walk away with your jaw."

"I hear you" A nod "Fine. Just.. " A thougght "No i suppose scaringg away a seamstress would be bad"

"Why? They gonna poke you with needles and thimples? I ain't afraid of no sewin' lady."

"I's just.. everything is changing so fast"

"Yeah, no shit? And in a couple of months, they say you're getting NAMED. Shit, what if you remember ancient oaths and stuff and have to go off lah-de-dah to serve some elflord?" A disgusted look. "I only just got you like I like you."

"Not like I LIKE you or anything." She adds.

A smile, and she bends down and hugs Briar "I know, you hate the mushy stuff... but don't worry. Whatever happens to me, I'll remember what a bad ass you are"

"Ugh, UGH." She complains, swatting at her. "Jesus, you DO need a dress."
