"Well, if I'm off in the dreaming, ain't no one there to spend my social security. How do you feel about keeping it up for me? Water the plants, keep the yard clear, while I'm off.... " A grin. "Doing physical therapy in a resort in the Keys?"

"Kids these days need some spending money."

"That would be perfect in a lot of ways. Thank you. "

He tips an imaginary hat to her. "Carnival is right around the corner. I suppose I can wait to head out until after then."

"Can I.. hug you?" Embarrassed to ask.

"Bring it on in." He spreads his arms. It's a bit of an awkward angle with him in his chair, but his smile is welcoming.

She's read online articles on messed up kids. She figures (Because how wrong can Google be?) that she's kind of seeing Marigold like a second mom. Tibs..might just fit that role of cool uncle. Unless he was serious about wha a woman marigold is then she'll have to keep an eye on him and make sure he's worthy of her.

She hugs him, craning down however odd the angle. "Thanks. I just...I think I needed to meet someone like you for a whole lot of reasons"

"You're a good kid. Now, let's see if my memories of the cooking at this hold still holds up. Does Miss Mari still do that roasted chicken with the taters fried up in the drippings?"

"If anything, she has even gotten better" Proudly

He grins. “Let’s go be the judge of that.”
