Taking a breath, Gwen goes to see what Willy is up to

She has been busy! But, nocker..........

A knock on the shop door

"YEAH!?"

"How goes?"

"WHAT!?!?"

"Can I open the door?"

"OPEN THE DAMN DOOR, NUMBSKULL!"

She comes in

The outbuilding has been made ready for a forge. Cleaned, supplied, and made ready! That pile of broken tack is clean, mended, and hung up. The floor is swept, the fireplace sootless and laid with wood, and what tools she brought with her are hung up ready.

"Wow, the place looks great"

"Oh, it's you. Yeah, it's getting there."

She closes the door behind her "I came to ask if you wanted me to bring you food"

"That'd be great, just hand me those crutches over there." she gestures to the corner without looking up from the scrubbing she's doing.

She reaches forw what looks like Crutches.. or supports or something "These? " Bringing them over

(I should have said, the corner's empty.)

(Sorry, my bad)

"Oh.. uhm.. the corner seems empty" She declares

"What?" she looks up, over. "Oh shit! Guess my legs aren't broken. Probably can get my own food, then."

"Geez you're such a ... "She clamps down

"Yeah, yeah, I know. Comes natural."

"Do you have to work so hard at HONING that particular talent?" She asks

"Actually, I don't work at it at all! Like I said, it's just natural. You work on being tall?"

"I try to rise above constantly- perhaps it helps" She says dryly "Fine. I thought perhaps you were the sort who might appreciate food brought in while you worked. I wasn't trying to imply you couldn't. "

"Basic rules. Ya don't eat where ya work. Gums things up."

"Noted" She says "And good to know"

"Keep yer shit straight, workplace clean and ready. Do the job smart and quick as you can."

The troll does listen, "Do you have a pattern to the set up of your tools?"

The troll gets a LOOK. "Yes. Duh."

"So is there a reason to the pattern being like it is or is it just a matter of same same is easier to memorize where things are?"

"Both." She finishes the work she was doing and goes over to the tool rack. "Depends on the tool and the work of course but this is a pretty good starting point." she explains how different work uses different tools and having those tools placed just so makes the work efficient as well as making the job turn out better.

"Heard the phrase 'strike while the iron is hot'? You gotta run all over the shop to get your tools, the iron cools."

She pays attention then nods "Makes sense. Like you said earlier, smart AND quick"

"Yep." she puts the pinchers she was demonstrating with (waving around) back where they go.

And she watches. If she ever does help, she wants to be ready.

"Questions?"

"What's your favorite sort of job to do? crafting wise. I mean. Do you have a favorite task?"

A shrug, she uses a thick fingernail to scrape some rust off of the equipment. "This work is ok. Grew up working around horses, I know the way that works an' I fit in ok. And my work's solid."

"Sure is" She nods "I meant more like..well, if you were a jeweler I'd ask what kind of metal you like working with I guess?"

"Steel's the only real metal. The rest is just... play stuff."

A smile at that "Well, I admit, I do like how Silver looks. "

"Oh, sure, for -looks- it's fine. Soft as snot though."

"Steal gets the job done though" She nods

"Well, since I know you don't want to eat where you work now. Did you want to hit the kitchen for a snack?"

Willy looks around with some dissatisfaction. "Yeah. Guess so. Without a damn forge ain't much I kin do now. Let's go."

"Mm" A nod and leads her out

Willy happens to be going the same direction Gwen is.

And they go to the kitchen.

Willy is careful to wipe her boots and wash her hands.

Gwen having already wiped her own boots grunts quiet approval. In they go. "Ah, materials for hero sandwiches. That might be a bit more than a snack"
