Out at the old abandoned gas station, Nevara lies comfortably on the roof, her legs dangling over the edge. It's cold, sure, but the sun is out and has heated the surface a bit, and the warmth on her face is welcome. She hangs out, as she has for the past hour or so, chillin' and singing along to music played from her phone - offkey.

"Hey, " A voice familiar

She sits up, clicking off the phone halfway through Smashmouth, looking to see who it is! "Hello hello?"

Lavender Delorian aka Dee comes up "All that glitters is GOOOOLD..." And she comes up "You'll freeze your feathers off, girl"

"Oh, I'll survive. I survived worse, after all. I waited, and you came!" A bright smile, as she offers a hand to clamber up the side of a building not meant to be scaled. But perhaps Dee is spry as a mountain goat!

A leap and a catch of the hand "whoa"

Nevara pulls... clearly the strength of the wolves is not in her, but she manages to help Dee up onto the rooftop. "That's a good jump!" Up there she has a nice thick wool blanket laid out, a thermos, her tunes - not a bad little nest.

"Thanks. " She looks around "Nice view"

"It's even better from higher up." A small pout as she looks Dee over, and remarks, "You're not one of the ones that can fly, are you? I don't remember wings. But I don't remember a lot. And THAT is enough to drive a bird batty."

"Ha. You poor thing. yeah, that's the mists at work. And no. I do my flying with the help of a horse. And we never really fly . Just feels like it"

"See, it's eating at me, though." She taps her forehead, behind feathery black bangs. "I remember everything I see and hear, if I put my mind to it. But with you folk, there are all these blank spaces. So I figure, I gotta just work harder and fill in the gaps." A grin, enthused by the challenge.

"I like your attitude, but if it doesn't work, don't blame yourself. It's part of the duality of what I am. Even I can forget who I am though .. that's really disturbing when it happens. It's like being lost in your own skin" The smile fades at that

Nevara reaches over and squeezes one of Dee's hands. "Don't worry. If you forget, I'll come remember for you. So you just need to make sure I'm able to learn enough to help." Damned chipper, this lady.

"Mmm and you learn from me more what you want to remember to help me. Sneaky AND nice" A grin

"I'm glad you came, though. I wanted to get rid of this, and I figured that your friend Sam deserves more of a thank you then my words gave. So, feeding two birds with one scone." A grin as she alters the old axiom a bit.

A nudge with a foot, and a lumpy sack clinks a little.

She looks at the sack "Wait, this is for me and Sam?"

"Well, I was going to say it was for Sam so you don't try to wiggle out of our date, but if you want to, you can share it. Mostly I want it gone." She shakes the sack open, revealing a (rather crushed and mangled - more so even than Dagmar left it when she bent the bars) golden bird cage!

"Afraid it can't be used any more - I took a crowbar to it. But the material is still good."

"Ha. Okay. See, to me gold is like 'there's gold in them there hills' and I'm like 'oo treasure' but.. gee it has to suck having that as a kryptonite."

Nev reaches in and picks up a scrap, tilting it in her bare hand and letting it catch the light. "It's pretty, too. Which makes it all the more annoying." She drops it back into the bag - hand unscathed. "Very few people know about the Raven folk. And fewer still know our weakness. But I figure that if Falcon trusts you, I can't hardly do less."

"Your secret is safe with me" She nods shuddering to think of what others might do with the knowledge

"I don't suppose you know a smelter?" She says, half joking. "You can send it in to one of those Cash-4-Gold places but they'll rip you off, pennies to the dollar. I thought about just doing that and giving you guys the check, but... figured I'd let you decide."

"I know of a place with a smith, don't know if tthey work in gold, but I promise I won't let it be turned into a cage. Something pretty and non edged if I can help it. Course, Sam will have to agree but she's cool so I bet she's with that"

"To be honest... you might sell the gold if you can get someone to smelt it off the frame." Making a bit of a face. "I figure it's gotta be at least one pound of the pure stuff to have plated it thick enough to trap me. And that ain't cheap."

A pause, and she laughs. "Cheep!"

A snerk

"Okay, that's hilarious."

A grin! "it's part of our code, you know. Raven literally commands us to laugh. Helps get through the dark times, and sometimes it feels like they're all dark times these days."

"You gotta laugh, or you'll cry."

"I do both. Satyrs are, well, we're emotional. Others have PMS, we have Pan Moody Syndrome"

"Itt tends to pass fast too, but it comes on strong. "

"Do the fair folk have a creed they follow? Or... Satyrs, do you have your own?" Offering Dee her thermos of what proves to be hot coffee with lots of cream and sugar.

"I'll show you mine if you show me yours." She offers with a grin.

She takes a swig "yes" And hands it back then fights a smile to see how Nev reacts to that "Yes, we have creeds"

Nev just grins, enjoying the game. "Are you allowed to tell me? Or do I have to sneak around and be a rotten little spybird?"

"I could tell you, but I would be expected to light you up again." She reaches into a pocket "Want some fruitcake?"

Thoughtful. "If you light me up, I'll forget." A puff of breath. "Like having a real rager of a party, you know it was great but...." A hand across her forehead. "El blank-o the next morning."

"Okay okay.. I will tell you a bit. we owe you that much. We come in Seelie and Unseelie Courts. And each of them has a code"

"I've read some modern lore, but then I stopped... figuring it might be dangerous to get ideas in my head that aren't right. Legend has the Fair Folk quick to insult, a lot of the time." Listening intently!

"Many of us are... indeed, once there were four courts, one for each season, but each season thought it was the bestt, and a great war occurred... so damaging to all involved that now only Winter and Summer remain."

"Are you winter, or summer?" Snacking on trail mix - apparently eating like a bird doesn't mean picking at your food, but grazing to keep up that metabolism - and she shares.

"On the cusp. I guess I don't like being denied"

A grin. "Fair is fair. Let me give you a little of that good Raven intel in return. Or do you want to know about the wolves? You live fair close to the lake pack, but generally they'll keep to themselves if you let them. Or... I could just go random and see if I can surprise you." A chortle.

"You know, I don't mind a trade, but I don;t want you thinking I'm only a friend because we can tell each other hings. So you talk about what you want. But I'm curiosu.. what's your favorite color?"

"Oh, I like a lot of colors. I like the blue-black of healthy feathers, and the light of sunshine coming down through the trees. Those both harken back to papa Raven and big boss Helios, both kinda our patrons, so I'm like, contractually obligated to like them. I like purple, too, oh, and silver. Silver especially, because it's bright and catches the light, and it annoys wolves if you wear it but since it's just jewelry they can't say boo about it really, and if they do, it's easy to hop out of reach."

"I love silver, the sliver like is on an Arhturian knight's armor"

"Is your magic like Merlin? A seer and prophet and alchemist and astrologer? Or more like Disney Merlin, with turning poor kids with destinies into Squirrels? Oh, I met a Squirrel-lady once. She said she was a Knight, and I was told not to believe her, but I think maybe she actually was. This was long ago though, and far away. Can't get much farther without falling into the opposite ocean, in fact. Being a messenger means being on the move though." A little forlorn.

"Could have been a pooka, our magic is whimsical, make believe some would say.. belief makes a lot of it happen. Our magic grows bored with routine, it demands you ..get whimsical"

She laughs! "I love it. Well, if you ever get bored, you can come try out your magic on me. I promise to believe whatever you say. I've seen enough to know that nothing is impossible. A pooka... huh." She nods, locking in a bit of intel. "Tricksters? We have a rep, but it's Coyote who's really the trickster where I come from. Raven is more sly and trick-Y."

"Oh, I also like blacks and blues, but I think that's a bad omen" A grin "And careful.. Our magic can be embarrassing sometimes as well as dangerous"

"You've never seen a homid Corax's first attempts at flight. My mentor laughed for AGES before he helped me out of the rosebush." Grinning.
