Emerson looks for Caesar, and finds him at Firnost.

He spots this as he enters, and walks quietly up to where Caesar is (sitting?).

Caesar is at the bar, and he looks to be half awake

He blinks "Emm er..sson? Hey"

"Mmm...." He hoists himself up on the stool next to Caesar and orders a scotch, neat, from the Gloves.

It is served

"What... what brings you?" Caesar slurs

"Oh, you know how it is." he sighs "As much as I utterly adore your mother, sometimes it does one good to get some fresh air, take a walk alone, you know."

"Oh I know.. and sometimes they WANT space" He sighs

A chuckle. "Well, I can understand that in your mother. I knew she was a satyr when I met her, yes? Right here, in fact." he muses.

"Oh yeah, this WAS the spot" he takes a sip

"Yes, yes indeed." a happy sigh. "What brings you here tonight?" casually curious.

"I'm using one of the rooms" he says

"Using..... for what? Dare I ask....."

"April and I had.. a fight. Shit. Don't tell mom. April... I screwed up. I mean, she's used to me having urges. I'm a satyr, right? But I mouthed off in front of a camera and... it was ACTING you know?" Miserable

"My dear boy....." he pats the giant man's hand "As someone involved with a saytr, I can tell you that April is used to it and the rift will heal." a chuckle "A secret? Sometimes I actually pick a fight with Callidora....."

"YOu are either brave, crazy, or both" he says at THAT news

William chuckles again. "Well.... I've been known to apologize and when we are back to rights...." he lifts an eyebrow knowingly.

"Yeah, but I ... I was on camera, and made a joke about how I was probably taking a lucky fan who threw her panties at me to a hotel that night... because I APPRECIATE my fans... funny har har?" He looks a bit guilty "But then I made a blonde joke about April... and DUMB she is not"

William winced "Oh dear..... dear dear dear. She is not dumb, no....."

"Brilliant, in fact. She's a degreed botanist"

"Indeed." he sips his scotch "She didn't appreciate your humor and now you are sleeping here, hm? You tried to apologize, of course...."

" I did. I mean, she's troll kinain, takes a lot to get to her, but... we satyrs heat fast and cool quick.. she is... holding a grudge on this one. I tried flowers. She returned them shredded."

He tsks. "Were the flowers and note the only attempt to make it right?"

"I Apologized too , of course. Tried my most charming. She is PISSED. Best thing in my life, and I wrecked it"

He takes a swig only to find his mug empty

William motions for the Gloves to bring and leave the bottle.

They do so.

"It occurs to me, my boy, that you were on camera when you offered insult and injury.... have you tried the same tactic to apologize?"

Caesar took the bottle and refilled, and was about to drink when he says "Wait. No. No I haven't. Do ...do you think that would work?"

"The public nature of it all, and the enormity of it... well, if you haven't tried it, you might. Could it make it worse?"

"You know, you're right. I mean, I shamed her on TV. Didn't mean to, but the least I can do is apologize on it!" Hope sparkes in his eyes

"-After- you have slept this off, my boy. Trust me on this."

"You sure?" He says "I mean.." He gets to his hooves, wobbly "no time like the preshant to tell the worl'"

"I am completely convinced, Caesar." He tugs the man to sit back down "There's another point to consider, please...."

Caesar plops down "What's the other point?" He asks blurrily

"Will she appreciate the matter being brought up again, publicly? How long ago was this?"

"About ...five days?" He says "Four?"

"A bit fresh, then. Hm."

"In satyr time this feels like years" He says

"Have you spoken with her at all in that time?"

"Tried to Text. She's got me blocked. Went to our house, tried to apologize, and she told me she was not talking to me and I could to back to my fans if I wanted attention"

"Hm. Not overly useful. Perhaps.... I could talk to her? Judge the lay of the land?"

"I .. not sure if she'd like that or not" he admits "She DOES like you, you know? She says you're great with the kids even when you're not eager to be saddled with them and it's nice of you"

A long-suffering sigh. "They are important to Callidora." he agrees.

He pats Caesar's forearm "My boy, I'll drop by. Haven't seen you, bringing by a covered dish to share, it's been a while since we've seen you, or her. How is every little thing?"

"It WAS great" he says "The kids are booming, you know? And... April's written a book and it's been published... non fiction bit about trees protecting against erosian and progress made in fighting climate change using natuer itself"

"Perfect! I happened across it and, realizing who the author is, brought it -and- a covered dish so she could autograph the book!"

"Where is it for sale?"

Caesar grins and tells him, the title nd everything . proud even in his misery
