Dinner is arranged

After perusing the grounds, Kerri has changed into something more dressy for dinner and coaxed Olgar to at least put on a fresh shirt and, yes, a tie.

"This is one of those tests for the Ardent Admirer side of things right?" He grouses as he hooks on the tie

"There's my big brave love," she pats him on the shoulder.

"They don't warn a guy that after the nuptials you still have to wear ties. I got it on straight?"

She takes a look, and gives the tie a little tug of adjustment, then nods. "Stunning."

"That and five euro will get me a cup of coffee" But he kisses her lightly "Thanks." Nothing can save the visage of the man, but a nice suit and tie can work wonders

She returns the kiss, then asks, "Have you heard anything more about the auction?"

"i'm not really great at the intell gathering, but I put a bottle of wine in a local mortal worker... he's confused, but apparently the auction is drawing a lot of rich Americans. "

"Now kenning has revealed something" He says "I think I know where wards have been laid down"

"Where? And how strong do they seem to be?"

"Strong, but not Emmit DeBuke level strong, thank whatever Goddess is nearby and feeling kind" A wink

The hallways of the hotel are masteful works of art, adorned WIth art works. But then they enter the resturant

An elegantly dressed woman, the hostess, greets them, "Please, let me show you to a table? Just two?"

"Ohhh..." She's used to the magical grandeur of fae halls, but that mortals can make such a romantic setting without the benefit of glamour pleases her a great deal.

The hostess sees her look and bursts into a warm smile that's more geniune than the standard greeting smile "It is breath taking isn't it? We have spots near the garden/plaza, or ones with ocean views. The latter is a bit more crowded but not overly so"

"They both sound lovely. Ollie?" She lets him make the choice.

"The Garden Plaza sounds good. Sure the ocean is beautiful, but I probably won't notice it" Olgar says and gives his trueheart a long meaningful look

She grins and feels a blush in her cheeks. "Garden it is."

The hostess looks surprised and a bit impressed. The man's features are off putting, but that was a good line ... and husbands often don't bother making the effort, "This way, please" And they get taken to a very nice table

"What can I say," Kerri says as they follow the hostess. "I got one of the good ones." She lets Olgar pull out her chair for her and takes a seat, checking her hair. It's not often that she has the leisure to wear it in an up-do, but she couldn't resist a little visit to the salon before dinner.

She looks glorious! And she's clearly not the only one who notices it

A wink to Olgar as he settles in his own seat.

"The head chef today is Liselle Vergarden, " the Hostess says, naming one of those world famous types

"Oh! That's..." she catches herself about to gush a bit too enthusiastically, and pauses before saying more sedately, "That's wonderful."

"One can try Chef Lisselle's personal menus if you like... " And she names (Some of the dishes mentioned in that article) "A focus on the Crete favorites" Though the chef is american if Kerri recalls

"Oh, it's hard to choose. But I think I'll try the kohli bourbouristi."

"Same" Olgar says

"Excellent choice" the hostess says

Other drinks etc are orderedto go with the snails

Kerri thanks her, and then gazes out over the garden.

"Did I just order snails?" He asks her "I think I ordered snails"

The hostess has left...

as for the Garden... well, it is more priviate, but not completely empty. (Perception plus Alertness for Kerri)

"You didn't know? I thought you knew!" She laughs a bit. "Do you want to change it?"

"Nah, nah, you served me Escargo before, remember? You said you could make anything taste good and you know? I liked it more than I admited." that was years ago "But not sure someone else's snails will taste as good"

"Well, if you think Chef Vergarden does a better job than I do, I promise you I won't feel insulted. She's good."

"You're a fan? "

She hears a conversation going on at antoher table behind a tree.. and she hears the world 'auction'

"Yes, I..." Then she pauses and makes a little gesture for him to listen.

And he does, then mouths 'Auction' confirming he heard it too

Kerri tries to listen, but accidentally elbows her silverware off the table, causing a clatter.

And the conversation dies down at the other table

Kerri gives a sheepish look. "Sorry, excuse me," she says to the other table as she retrieves her silverware and folds it into a napkin. Then she mouths a more concerned, "Sorry," to Olgar.
