She crouches on the ledge, eyes gleaming as she watches the boars still trampling the remains of... 'Kenny'. And now. Kenny 2!

It looks like she's tempted to join them in their carnage.

A hand grabs her "We gotta move." Dirk says "This wall's coming down, the boars and water are doing too much"

"Just another minute... we didn't get any of the meat..."

Dirk says "the meat's about to be in soup form with us as the crackers on top. Come on!"

She hesitates... but then follows him.

It's not as cool as if there was an explosion behind them, but there's something about a FLOOD and metal and stone and wood bursting behind you that's almost as cool in a michael bay way

In fact, at the last part, dirk says 'We can do the slow walk now"

A grin up at him. "Maybe we can come back in a few months. Get that big nasty boar who had a bellyful of Kenny, and rundown that buck if he's fat enough."

"Shit yea" He nods "By then, Kenny will have processed, flavors the meat. In the mean time.." He gestures to one piglet , younger than others, that looks ready to drown "Grab it by its scruff and have at. Flood or us, makes no diff which kills it cept one of em feeds you for a time"

"But right now I could eat my own goddamn claws..." She rubs at her stomach which aches emptily. "Yeah?" She doesn't have to be told twice, and dives atop the piglet.

Dirk does the same, killing a larger pig that's unsteady and comparitively helpless in the water /mud as long asi t doesn't have time go get out

"I'd've killed Kenny if I got a chance. You know?" She says a little later, blood smeared and slightly satiated. "Pigs or men, they're all just meat on the inside. They're not people unless they matter to me. And these guys didn't mean shit."

She gives him a wary glance, to see his response.

He looks over at her, then says "Huh. i wondered." he doesn't seem appalled

"So you've eatten people huh" A much as he tears into his boar

She gnaws at a bone to avoid eye contact. "I got a taste. And since then, I couldn't stop thinking about it. I never really thought before about how mortals are just meat on the inside. Meat sacks in suits, meat sacks in dresses. Pigs and piglets."

"Fae too, I guess, but they matter more."

"Guess it's not so much that I gotta get a taste, but... they're livestock. Gwen doesn't think so. She'd get AWFUL mad if I said that to her."

She scowls and snaps through the bone with a violent crunch.

"ALmost every redcap eventually gets a taste. " he says Tearing at the meat "Cant be helped.. hell, i once sucked down some of my own blood after getting a busted lip. See that's where you worry just how hungry you'll get" He says "As for Gwen, well, makes sense she'd have a problem with it. Most of us do. But in her case she mgiht be thinking of them less as pigs as more like dogs. Soemtimes mortals make decent companions... not always but sometimes. And then there's the OTHER Problem' munch

She fidgets uncomfortably as Dirk says "us".

"Yeah, which one?"

"You kill a pig" he munches "No worries. You kill a dog? Okay, someone gets upset cause they love their dogs. But still, not a big deal. You kill humans too regularly, you'll kill off your chance of more kithain in the future" Munch "way I had it splained to me.." tear and rend "we don't like banal shit, right? Well, that includes our meat. So we go after ones that aint' so banal and cold. WARM food, hot food, that's best. Problem is, that's more likely to be a potential dreamer, or a kinain, and even then, that's more likely to have kids that one day have a future redcap born of it. "

"There's tons of humans. Soul needs a spot, they'll find one." Chewing on entrails.

"GLamour is free," he slurps an entrail himself "But that don't mean the souls come back easier. They need a certain amount of warmth to rise out of. Now me, first time I tasted a son of adam, I was surprised how much like pork he tasted. shouldn't have been. I've been told some canibals say it's closer to Cassowarys"

"I get it, though. Folk want a reason to hate me, they'll find one. Ain't no skin off my back, cuz I'm not lookin' to make friends."

"Casso-what? Is that like a Jabberwock?"

"Huh kinda , it's this bird with a shrark fin and claws, like an ostrich but meaner" a sigh "Always wanted to eat one. Anyway, human meat isn't that much better than pig meat. Hell, I'd say it's not any better. You know what makes you think it's better?"

Munch munch

"What?"

"When you bite into an animal, it knows it's been bit, sure" he gnaws at a bone "They're animals, they tend to bite other things themselves. But it's like 'oh shit. I'm in a fight.' at best. You bite into a person? People dream, they imagine, and you tear a chunk out of some asshole's shoulder like I once did? He gets more than scared, the fear gives him ideas! It almost like musing... some part of them can see you tearing into them, or having their flesh on a platter. Every canibal movie they seen, every time they watched a show where some human gets eaten by a shark because they just had to go for a swim, they can relate to that, they think, they imagine! Dumb animals don't do that." He says matter of factly "And, of course, you can get caught up into it too. You can imagine all that stuff yourself. You're half human, half fae, and you seen the movies or shows or stories too. So it's a kick to imagine them imagining. .kind of what do they call it? A vicious bicycle" He throws a bone way "But you can get that rush making them think you're going to eat them, then getting a fucking mcRib instead"

"yeah." She agrees, wistfully. "It's pretty damn great. Best thing there is."

"Scaring them into thinking you're gonna eat them? Not bad. Actually eating them? " He shrugs "meh. Seriously taste wise I'll take a steak. Its not worth it."

"I guess." She considers it, but doesn't seem convinced. "That sounds awful seelie to me."

But, she's thinking about it.

He wipes his lips "Nah, even most corbies don't take to anyone food like a bitch junkie hoping to get their next fix from that one drug. Oh yeah, the seelie particularly of other kith are like 'right to dream' and 'right to ignorance' and yeah yeah that's a risk but for a lot of caps its' not liking to be owned by our meals. We're not fucking koalas. We don't eat only one kind of leaf. We're omnivores."

"Oh, I'll eat anything. But meat is the best."

She's a little one-track minded, but, she IS still just a kid.

A nod "I think so too. But when a son of adam tastes no better than the pepporin on your pizza? Not worth the problems. "

"Just so long as erryone KNOWS I will eat what I want, when I want. I might PICK not to eat someoine. But I COULD. -I- decide."

Her small chin juts out stubbornly, blood stained and gore streaked.

"And if my choices get me in trouble, then I'll deal with trouble. Maybe eat them too. Maybe not." A grin.

He finishes up, they rise "In the end, we all decide. Just sometimes, choices come with consequences. " A smirk "And sometimes you can eat the conseuqnces but don't get cocky" A chuckle and off they go to see the damage they've caused , the river flowing again

She joins him to look over the damage and carnage... proud, surveying a fine day's wreck.
