Thistle's studio is near the kitchen. Though it has only been 'hers' a short time, it is beginning to show signs of personalization - her own peculiar systems for organizing materials and projects, a place for the bead kit from Bluebell apart from the dusty ceramics, a table for working vs one for drying...

"Huh..." She glances over the lay out, "Hey, did you do the gradiant color scale to index these?"

"Uh, yeah." She frowns and shoves a box out of sight. Ceramics go 'clink'.

"So, this is the kiln the Baron got?"

"And the wheel..."

A bright green and a vibrant orange pair of Nevers are checking out Kylie. Chime!

"Nice Klin.. and..." the blue stripesof her hair are natural

A pink and white striped Never has also shown up, it must have zipped into the studio when the door opened. It flits around Kylie's hair, giving a blue bit a tug!

"Right? Important to have good tools. Now, the raku kiln, I made to work with it..." She touches the modified trash can.

"Hey?" She turns "What...do you want?"

"They like bright hair."

"Oh.. huh, no wonder you got so many around here" She looks back a the Raku Kiln "You improved a garbage can... and it works. Damn"

"Well, you familiar with raku? It's Japanese..."

Cadmium and Kelly are orbiting Thistle now.

Candy-Stripe drops straight down into the Raku kiln.... luckily, it's cold.

"sounds familiar but I ggotta fes I got nothin"

His chime echoes eerily against the hollow can.

"Dingbat." She taps the can.

"Ok, so, raku's a low-fire technique, you want your fire at between 800 and a thousand C..." Yup, Kylie's getting an explanation.

"These things don't seem to have a lot of wattagge in the brain pan..." Bu she listens

"If two of'm butt heads, they might spark one thought between them."

"So, you gotta have a rapid change, and then you introduce the burnables to influence the glaze... like.. oh, this one was plunged into shredded newspaper and hay..."

Kylie is being shown pieces, now... to discuss the techniques!

Kylie looks them over "Damn, it's like Chaotic Good art."

Scowl, and she pulls that one away. "Not art. Just... test pieces.."

"To see if the kiln worked. And figure out the glazes."

"Oh, you can do cool stuff with horsehair, too? When it's still glowing red-orange, but not red-red..."

"The pot'll be so hot coming out, the hair just COMBUSTS, but in these lines..." Tapping at them with a gnarled finger on the 'test piece' for Kylie to see.

"Now, chimerical hair, burns colors!"

"Huh... makes me wonder if you could incorporate gem dust... probably not safely for this but huh"

She sucks on her teeth, thinking.

"Gem dust'd be more suited for something that'd highlight the sparkle. Bisque fire, probably."

"Raku gets smoky, could occlude."

"Yeah... you really know this voodoo"

"Glazes are sort of both art and science. If you don't get how the chemicals work, you're just gonna spit out grey-brown vomit."

"Once I tried to mix some incompatible alloys for a chain... did not worrk well"

"Ohh, yeah, I bet."

"Willy is the smith, mind you."

"yeah, saw the tack on one of the horses. That's her sttuff right?"

"Yeah. Farrier, primarily, but does other stuff, and leather too."

"She's really good."

"Huh.. maybe we should do some pennons cross over... " thoughtful "Notthinng big, just a chance for all to show their goods"
