A smile "Bluebell swears by greens. Would she lie?" Inside joke

Snort!

Art rolls his eyes. Meanwhile Becki has slid the check onto the table, and then hightailed it out of sight.

"Okay, let's see what the bill is?" She starts to reach for her purse

Art reaches into his pocket as well, and produces a $20. "I'll pay my share." He insists.

the troll masks her surprise "Going Dutch eh? Want me to cover yours, Trina? I don't mind"

"Oh, hey, sure.. um..."

"I'll cover you for tickets, Art, if you got me here?"

"I can get my ticket as well. I do not think my host has any dutch Heritage. English, several generations back. But perhaps, Americans seem to be rather diluted."

She checks her texts to see if Chuck has an update if he can make it inn time for the movie

No texts...

A sigh then "Well, looks like bettween us we got this covered."

But, when they head to the car... Chuck is parked out front, and waves to Gwen with a grin! "Surprise! Sorry I missed pizza, but I got out just in time to meet you for the movie!"

"HEY..." She flies to him then catches herrself and makes it more like a friendly pat on the shoulder. She whispers "SO glad to see you. But... I'll show how happy later. Tell you why in private"

He grins at her, and then pouts just a bit - jokingly, when she calls off the hug. It looks like he came straight from practice, there's still some football gear in the backseat. "Let me clear this out and I can drive us all?"

"Sounds good to me, shotgun, obvs." A look to Thistle and Art "Good for you two?"

"I took Gertrude, but if y'all could drop me back here after?"

"Or we can ride over on your bike, if you don't want to leave her out." Art suggests.

She grins. "You wanna ride with me, Art?"

"You guys are going to freeze your butts off..." A smile "But have fun"

"We'll meet you there"

"Gertrude is reliable!" He says, and waves them off, narrowly escaping a ride with Good Ol Chuck.

A wave to the pair. "You've done this before, so just remember to keep a good hold..."

Once alonne with Good Ole Chuck, and away from the pizza place, Gwen explains "Sorry, your girlfriend is weird. Long story short? Waitress tried to make a move on Art with Trina right there.. left her number on a napkin. I snatched it to keep 'Becki' from poaching.. and then leered at Becki to make her think I was into girls. She cringed and retreated. Trina's hopes go on another day"

"Yes, your girlfriend is weird. Yes, you have to keep this just between us. yes. I owe you a real kiss" She adds/answers before he asks

"Wait.. wait. Trina... and Arty?"

Oh, that question "Takes all sorts. One football player guy I know? He's got a thing for this tall Amerind girl"

a smile at that

"Yeah, but... Arty?!" He laughs.

"Okay, okay. I'll root for him. That is, unless he toys around with Trina. Then he'd better watch himself."

"Aww... you're so boss" She kisses his cheek, "But don't be too hard on him. He doesn't know she's into him."

A laugh. "Fine, hopefully he figures it out before she loses interest though." And he drives, though he is able to reach for and hold her hand, in between gear shifts.

Meanwhile the other pair are seated on Gertrude the Frankenscooter - Arty directed to hold on to Trina's waist, lest he fall off.

He carefully takes hold of her sides. Luckily they are both fairly light, and not any trouble for Gertrude to handle together.

"Thanks for the ride - I know I kind of volunteered you to take me."

"It's cool. Riding with Chuck would be hard, right? Though I think, overall, it's good you found Art. Destiny, maybe."

"I... you know, you're right. Things would be different... but not necessarily better. Besides, if I hadn't found Art, maybe we wouldn't have found you either."

"Probably not. I only changed because of all your magic. And now Arty is off finding space-ships in the dreaming."

"No bullies."

She can feel him shaking his head. "I think you have more magic than me, honestly. After all, the nevers are drawn to you, and you've been making all sorts of things. Me? I just get in trouble, and sometimes see things."

"See the future. That's awesome, c'mon!"

"And you are smart. I bet you'll figure out all kinds of lore and magic..."

"Well, kinda? Not really. More like I see things, and then... maybe something happens, and you go "OH, so THAT'S what that meant! Not as helpful... and maybe it was even a coincidence, right?"

He grins though. "Even if I don't figure out how to do it, I still can learn about it, right? Maybe I can be a great teacher or sage."

"With practic, maybe you'll figure out more? Prophecy can't be too easy, or everybody'd do it."

In the car "How'd it go with the football meeting?"

"And you gotta do magic, so we can do magic-tech collabs, clearly."
