"Yeah? I'd better start researching then, right?"

"Totally. You'll be invaluable once I make my starship."

His hands tighten on her sides! "Starship?!"

"Why not? They say nockers can build anything. So we'll sail the skies, right? Maybe it'll be like old-school Wells stuff in the Dreaming, with, like, space-zeppelins... or.. I mean, why not a SHIP, with sails woven of moonlight?"

"Gwen seemed to think that the sky's the limit..." He's leaning forward, chin nearly resting on her shoulder, so that he can talk right into her ear vs. the wind whipping past and Gertrude's reliable rattle-clank-cough.

"Gwen can think that. So? It's there, we can get there."

"Do you know HOW to sail a ship? Piloting a rocket might be easier! Gertrude is halfway there." Laughing. "I guess we can learn as we go!"

She laughs. "NO idea, yeah - I like rockets lots."

"What's more exciting though - building it and making it go, designing and decorating it, or captaining it to the stars?"

"....Yes?"

He laughs again! "Right! Now, you'll have to figure out little space suits for the nevers..."

They're actually alone for the moment, if only because even an enterprising pixie has trouble keeping up with a scooter!

"Oh, maybe little bubbles? Like space hamster-balls..."

"I wonder if cantrips work the same in Zero Gravity..."

"Won't it be fun to find out? I was learning about Wayfare.... imagine Hopscotching in SPACE?"

"You might be out of luck if you run out of Glamour, cut off from Dreamers out there... You'd need a lifeline. Like, in this book called Night Watch, it's about supernatural magic users, you see? And one of them wants to cast a spell that will turn every mortal in view into one of them. So he has this plan, and manages to get on a rocket to go into outer space, where he can see EVERYONE on Earth... but it turns out that once he got into space, he was cut off from the magick entirely and ended up drifting..."

"Maybe Dross? Magic batteries?"

"Dross kind of is a magical battery." He agrees.

"Just need to get some, yeah!"

"I think I want to learn Wayfare, for sure. And you hear about Pyretics yet?"

"That's working with fire, right?"

"Yeah! I mean, ceramics is all about fire, in a lot of ways. Fire can change stuff. Willy is a blacksmith, and fire and metal is a whole new thing to learn..."

"I almost met Willy, once. Then I got out of her way, I think she would have gone right through me if I hadn't moved."

"She's very focused. I wish..." A sigh.

"What?" Art asks, curious.

"She's not afraid of making things."

"Or making mistakes."

"I make mistakes all the time." Art says, a bit bashfully.

"But you're learning! And you know all about this faerie stuff!"

"You're learning too! Isn't it okay for you to make mistakes? I mean, not that I think you would, but if you did, it would be okay?"

"I... I dunno..."

"I mean, fair's fair, isn't it?"

"It is easier when somebody else furks up."

"If you want you can blame me?" A grin.

A little laugh. "Nahhh. I just... hard to see anything but what's wrong with my stuff."

"Then maybe let someone else look!" He says, as simple as that.

"Well, Marigold liked her pot." Encouraged.

"Yeah! And the nevers, silly as they are, like everything you make. The Baron also keeps Willy around, even though I overheard Dame D'Lorean say that one of the saddles had a stirrup stitched on backwards."

"I want to make something nice for him and the Baroness."

"Then I bet you can! Me, I'm two left thumbs with trying to make anything I bet."

"You should just try, sometime. Come by my studio at the Big House, yeah? Get clay in your hands and see what happens."

"I could try, sure." He grins, and then points, "Look, there's the theatre. I see Chuck parking out front."

"Nice!" Whrrrr-rattle-clank-clank-PARK.

"Okay, they're here too" Gwen says "That scoote makes good time"

"Gertrude's the fastest franken-vespa in the west."

Art gives the vespa a friendly pat. "That she is. Shall we find seats? Does anyone need snacks?"

A look at Chuck "is this one of those times you insist on buying me the popcorn because you're all macho?" A flash of a grin thouggh "or will we go dutch?"

Chuck has an arm around Gwen. "I'll buy popcorn and candy because I'm starving. You want to get drinks?"

"Sounds good" A smile

And she chuckles at his starving thing.

"I came straight from practice." He explains. Gwen can tell, he did change his shirt, but there is still a bit of a masculine scent of a touch of sweat to him.
