Lady Captain Siv Waveborne is a hero. Shes' rather surprised to discover that despite 80% of her mission was wearing a false face, word has gotten out of her part in making the liberation possible. Of course, she did free folks meticulously one by one.. burning out dross (Not so bad, most of it taken from fallen foes) to do it. But she is not THE hero... while Siv basks in gratitude, the love of the people has shifted rapidly to Derynwydd, New ruler of the hold. Already the building looks less stark in some ways, and not just because boggans have moved quickly to help redesign. No, the Baroness was their liberating angel, like out of a story book- a good one. Somehow Symon managed to avoid most of the praise, which doesn't seem fair. Nadeen too...and yet both were indespensible in their own way.

Yet Siv certainly does not begrudge Baroness Derynwydd the center ring as it were. This is her circus and she can have it. It's got a lot more riches than Siv realized, and folks insist it is not THAT dry "Hot wet Summers" Says a boggan proudly. But it's still so very.. un sea like.

She does make a few suggestions to help "Oh leave these hallways bare, trust me... the Baroness will want to paint them by hand I think. It'll be lovely"

As for Derynwydd herself, she's a whirlwind. Siv thought she was extroverted, but she's not able to turn it ON like Sparrow is...Sparrow, who she always thought of as a reserved enough soul I was comparing her to her mother. I hate it when folks do that to me. And here I did it to her. She's...she's really very good at winning hearts and swaying others.

And if Siv looks out the window, she might see the Baroness on the high winds!

Not only does it let the people know she is there, it allows Derynwydd a birds eye view of her new domain. Siv loaned her a small telescope

among the sluagh, the tale is happily shared. Wenceslaus has returned. And made himself an invaluable informant to the Baroness. He doesn't like the crowds, but he is indebted, and knows the town better than any other sluagh and ..that is a very good informant to have.

Ded Romeo is just oh so pretty, and glad to be able to muse his usual diet of wanna be goth girls and edge ladies without having 10% of his glamour pipped out of him. The old crone who nearly broke her neck picking, who goes by the name Madame Chalknails is so happy to be free she almost chortled. The status quo of proper sluagh lively hood where elders such as she are respected is returning. Turns out she was pinching some dross she was supposed to be harvesting for the evil baron. She instead donates (most of?) it to the new baroness "to spread among the people as you deem fit"

"And of course, there are whispers about who are the most in need, madame?"

"oh, with the prisoners of the old baron released, some of them might need a drop or two. Mostly I want to go back to teaching children again...terrifying the little monsters into proper behavior and listening with pride as they grow to appreciate each other and shudder as they pass my class" A pause "but... yes. .I might suggest a few names"

"I would value your knowledge, Madame Chalknails." Sincerely.

"Wenceslaus is a better go between, my lady and braver than I, but.." a few names are whispered. And what the old teacher tells is horrific! in the name of 'preserving glamour for the barony' some Changelings have been allowed to fade and forget themselves. Particularly childlings who were seen as less productive.

Sparrow bristles. "Well, that must be addressed as soon as possible."

One Boggan, a barista who was suggested says "With your permission, Baroness? " Refilling Sparrow's 'Worlds Greatest Liberator

' mug... "We boggans know how to get to these children a bit smoother than some other kiths"

"I know well the efficiency of your kith - someone has already sewn a Truthbranch banner..."

A light blush "Oh, tish tosh, no trouble for the quilting circle at all" Boggans.. a dream so central that they seem universal.

"Oh, you say that - you should see my efforts at patching jeans! Please, let me praise your skill and speed."

"You have torn jeans?" She looks horrified and says "Well, will fix that" And suddenly one male boggan with a measuring tape has appeared.

Siv fights a smile "Well, Baroness. That may save us having your wardrobe from Earth Runes brought over."

"Well, I will need to get some things. Not in the least being Ladybird."

"...and I'm going to have to tell Coradel..."

"Oh she'll love the mountains" Siv says "Ah, begging your pardon, Baroness, but I interupted for a very specific reason. You have an applicant who wishes to offer his services or at least aid?"

"I.." A pause and she extends a wing to make room for the measuring tape. "I can see him, yes."

As she is measured, a familiar figure comes out and bows "Sir Grey ap Scathatch, at your service, Baroness Derynwydd. " Deadpan he says "I have references if you'd like to look over them?"

Siv actually feels a bit envious at Sir Grey's almost troll like humor

Sparrow's wings lift, much like Ladybird's pricked ears, and she beams. "Sir Grey! How did you get here so fast?" She sweeps him into a hug.

He returns the hug, modestly "In truth I came back with Wenceslaus when I was called." The Scathach grows grim "You still have a balor problem. They claim the only real trod in the area. I had to kill one of the idiots to make a point. I would have seen you further but Siv informed me if I came to you wounded I'd be a ... jerky mcJerkface who set you to worrying"

Siv says modestly "It's why I'm the poet Laurette of Rivervale lodge"

She laughs. "Sounds like Siv. And yes, we do. And probably more Balor once they learn their fellow is dead."

"iF we get men we trust and move quickly enough, we should be able to seize a near dreaming out post and hold it, establishing your claim..which should be yours by right of demense anyway" Ah, all business "I also suggest we get either Sir Earl or Sir Bachdion to visit then behoove them to use flicker flash to bypass troubles at least initially"

"Either would be welcome. And maybe get word to Niall, wherever he is wandering..."

"I will, and, you realize Cathil will ah.. insist?"

"She will. And your brother in arms, Raghnal..."

He nods "As many as will come, and new blood beside. Perhaps some regular Earth Runers will want to move here?"

"I am not about to poach.... "

Siv says "Just make the offer, Baroness. You don't have Serfs, never will, neither does your mother. What better way to show it than to let folks live where they like"

Grey sighs "Fiona,, speaking their mind a bit too directly since before the sundering"

Siv winks at the shorter man

"Well, this is a fine place - others might seek it. I know we have errant Liam to call, for now. Siv, do you think you could get in touch with Sir Frank?"

"I'm familiar with the man" She grinsthen coughs and bows "Yes, Baroness."

Sir Grey says "Baroness.. with your permission, may I have a room?" Rooms they have. So many former knights of Harkson have been captured or or fled that..well that's plentiful "And is there a position/Duty I should take over in the interim?"

"I will need a right hand man, and you were always that. I would prefer a Steward that is local - someone who knows the place and the people."

"Agreed. I'll handle things as a chanecllior and your hand, whatever the title..." he nods "But one who deals in supplies for the hold must have contacts. As must the reeves."

"Agreed. We seem to have several sluagh here - I believe our first Reeve should be able to connect with them. Perhaps this Wenceslaus?"

"He'd be good. " Siv says "Shy to most other kith, but the Reeve for the sluagh should be a sluagh or they won't talk to him hardly at all. And there's usually more than one Reeve" She smirks "Don't suppose I can mention the wonderful advantages to a Lodge system? Chief Sparrow has a nice ring to it"

"I.. I think that would be cultural appropriation, right?" But she smiles.

"Fair point" Siv grins "Sounds like a lot of jobs to go on then. If you're not offended. Oh, what did you want me to pass onto father message wise despite oh, the good news?"

"Well, I know.. Thanksgiving, so... so I would guess after, but I'd like to see him. And I might need Olgar's help with getting our trods cleaned out of serpents."

"Pack of Rovers would do it" Siv nods "Yes, you know of course Olgar will try to get some juicy set up for Knights of the Way .. dont' let him steam roll you or you'll be buying Rovers free beers for life"
