"Today!" One says in a squeeky voice "We will be avenged for the wrong done to our home! For a dream.. diminished! The stars were right! At last we can destroy those who dared to lower our dream to not mattering! " He is clearly the commander "Find their dreamers! Destroy them for this betrayal! Eat the astronomers! And remind them, then, now, and forever more... PLUTO IS A PLANET!"

The other thirty aliens chant in unision "PLUTO IS A PLANET!!!"

"oh fuck me" Tig mutters

Littered all about the aliens feet are shards of shining almost silver like metal. Glistening with glamour

Jess pulls her maul from it's holster on her back.

"Terran scum.. TERMINATE THEM!" And the aliens fire!

Jessica takes cover.

She hides behind a large rock which wobbles slightly as they fire up at her. Tig dashed for a groove and hit hte ground "You got a plan? " He asks "Because there are only so many troll sized boulders like you've got"

"You have any ranged weapons? I don't. They do."

"I have a throwing knife... how are we for cantrips?" He asks

"Well, there's Glamour right there.... I have some basics. Primal, Wayfare, Chicanery and Legerdmain."

THe boulder bumps against her as it gets blasted from below again.

"I got a bit of wayfare, touch of chichanery"

"Primal to try and hold them here, then Wayfare to get away, get reinforcements?"

"Maybe... but Vali wanted us here? He wanted us to run?"

"Vali doesn't get a vote!"

"Okay. Who do we warn? Because I think they plan to raid the nearest town and punish them for something that Neil Degrasse Tyson guy started"

"We're IN Tijuana, it's all my town!" She ducks again. "We'll get to the closest Freehold and muster some warriors."

"What did he say? What else did he say?" Thoughtful

"WHAT!?!?!"

"Oh, Vali said something about Rock and Roll rules!"

The Plutonians are starting to up the ledge, to close on the boulder she's hiding behind, but as they ARE short, it will take a bit

"They're short, we can outrun them but probably not those blasters!"

"Rock and Roll rules?? What am I supposed to do, SING at them?"

"Look... I had one job, it's STUPID, but I'm doing it. To tell you the stuff Vali said. SING go ahead... Twerk with the rock if you want. Maybe music is their kryptonite? don't know"

And he flings his throwing knife at one then ducks again

"I swear, Tig, if this is some kind of joke, I will KILL you......"

"...... I can't think of a song!"

"What about the song that was playing when the three of us.. ah.. nevermind"

Jess flushes deeply. "We don't talk about that!!!"

"I KNOW, THAT'S WHY I SAID NEVERMIND? Why are you makin g this alien invasion so awkward?"

"ME!??!"

"Give me a damn song to sing!!!"

"Thunderstruck? Unforgiven?"

Then the first alien makes it up to the top of the boulder, it wobbles under his puny weight but not enough to start tumbling, he looks down at her "Eat COLD LASER, TERRAN!"

Jessica gives the boulder a shove to knock him off balance and stands to strike!

the shove works.. and then some...as it knocks that guy off, then keeps rolling! Dozens of screams follow as the boulder bounces and smashes and crushes several plutonians , at least half of them!

"Rock.. and ROLL.. oh god. I get it. I get it"Tig groans

"AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!!" Jess bellows a wordless war cry, and charges into the chaos!

And so does Tig! His claymore slashing. Her maul crushing!

Lavender blood (lovely shade) goes SPLAT.. and GLOOP and sput!

the aliens fire back.. scorch marks and laser cuts dot our two trolls.. but it's not stopping them

Jessica, on a good strike, can take out two or three of the little things.

She works her way to the crash site; is there a ship, or....??

Just shards of metal... pretty fancy looking metal.. and an egg!

And the lasst bulbeead dies

Jess focuses on defending Tijuana from a Plutonian invasion, but the egg will get a look afterwards.

And now it's afterwards.

Panting, she leans on her maul. "Tig.... you..... ok?"

"Few cuts.. few cold burns.. not sure how lasers make cold burns but there you go..." He blinks "Star metal? Holy shit. Do you remember you dad's talk of legends about metals?"
