"I wonder if you could make cheese from cat-milk..."

"I think I'll pass." Wry.

"I... don't think cats make enough to make it a viable attempt. Let's not." Constance says

"Well, we need it all for the babies."

"Exactly." Jessica confirms.

"Tell you what, Ellie, Constance.... I'll go to the kitchen, come back with something for Mama."

Constance raises a brow "As you like. I really must get back to my work though"

"Of course. Thank you, Scribe Constance, for your hospitality."

"I'll be right back, Ellie."

"Welcome" She says and resumes her writing

Jessica heads off for the kitchens, leaving Ellie to adore the beans.

Jessica raids the kitchen with efficient authority and returns soon with PROTEINS.

And, with a pooka childling tagging on her heels. "Condesa, you should let me carry those, por favor..."

"Ok, here you go...." Jessica shares.

Salma seems much relieved as she helps carry. "You are not mad at the Princesca?" A little anxious.

"It was not her idea, truly no."

"I'm not mad. Frustrated, maybe. She must have an escort."

Poor Constance is being peppered with questions. "You said you had a cat before, what was its name?" "Do cats and Great Danes get along?" "How do cats always land on their feet?"

"Ellie, come help us feed the Mama."

A kind suggestion.

"His name was Rupert GIles"

"That's a good name."

"Pppsst pst pst pst....." Jessica sets up the food, calling Mama to come eat.

Mama peeks out, and seeing there are no Toms.. (Treacherous bastards) approaches. She is no feral cat. She has known love and kindness and after two days of little food and a lost friend... she is happy to have it again

"There you go."

"Poor girl, she's starving..."

"I got some water too...." A bottle and a dish, and soon there's fresh water available.

And yes, Mama is huuungry

"Looks tiring to be a Mama."

"I am given to understand it is." She nods.

"She drinks delicately though, so thirsty and yet she takes such precise laps" Constance says "What are you calling her, Jessica?"

"Mama, so far. I suppose it's not really a name, per se."

"Something will come to you I'm sure" Constance says

"I wonder if she already has her name? Her person died."

"She might, but she may need a new one. Fae often, but not always, get new names. And we aren't going back to look for what her name was."

Fed, waters, 'Mama' moves by hands to get stroked

Ellie reaches out to pet Mama's head.

"Bueno Mama."

Purrr

and bump against Jessica too... there are TWO people here. One hand? Really?

A small puff, and Jessica pets too.

"I am sorry. But I'm glad we saved the kitty."
