Adam shrugs, apparently not willing to debate it in current circumstances.

The lady in grey still has a majority of his attention.

And then he notices it, just for a moment, she uses a reflective surface to do it, but.. did she just notice him?

He perks up. Noticably.

And then she's back to making her rounds.

A brief droop, but he rallies to go back to his observations.

And then he sees the woman in gray vanish

not literally...

but she goes into a backhall

He looks after her hungrily, but stays with Vali.

Vali grunts a nod of a soft approval?

Adam looks to see what Vali is grunting about.

Probably him

"What?" whispered.

"I mean, what, Sir?" He corrects himself.

"Staying at your post. Even though she was leading you away. Good. For more reasons than one. " He says softly "Good discipline. "

A wistful, even put-upon sigh, but he stays where he is. As a reward, he watches Nadeen for a while and then branches out to Sir Otto and others.

There are other beauties here. He sees a woman redish armor with a Lion on her cloak.. she's beautiful, of course, a warrioress. She drinks and talks with a cavalier attitude

Adam actually exhales watching her, and takes a few steps away before stopping and coming back.

(Away from Vali and towards the woman in redish armor before coming back)

She pays him no mind...

and Nadeen's voice can be heard "Of course."

Adam gravitates, his attention drawn by Nadeen's voice.

And he's rewarded, opposing Nadeen is another sidhe, well, opposing seems too strong a word, they appear to be talking and perhaps teasing lightly over something?

"I assure you, my champion will be more than prepared come pennons. Dame Hammerstrike is recieving training from the Chieftain herself. And the Chieftain, as you know, has crushed all opposition"

The other sidhe is definitely not a pale slavic beauty, rather an african American goddess infused with the soul of a sidhe, she is almost creamy chocolate perfection

The throaty laugh of the lady she faces is challenging "Haven't you heard? the Doomwind is here. Even the Shacklebreaker's reign must end"

Adam is distracted by the woman's appearance, and it takes a few beats before the impact of her words makes it through.

"This is one storm that breaks for no wind, Laanan. Besides, I haven't even seen the Doomwind. At this point I'm starting to suspect she's like the Mouse Pooka everyone says is such a threat in Missouri. A tall tale about a long tail."

He listens, but tries not to stare....

"Well, the Chieftain isn't here either as you pointed out" Laanan says "And I've seen Doomwind fight. She's very good, Nadeen. You might want to not bet good dross. You Varich pride yourself on seeing the patterns."

"Ffft," Nadeen says "And Eiluned such as yourselves always think you're cleverer than you are. Mind you, I find you tolerable because you almost are up to the level of your own hype"

"High praise," The Eiluned says, and her dark eyes have flecks that resemble tiny stars

... and he finds himself starting to be lost in the mystery and magic of those star-lit eyes.....

"And who is this?" suddenly he's noticed. By a sidhe ,who is not Nadeen

"This is Thane Adam. He shows promise" Nadeen says with a shrug

Then she adds "I believe Sir Vali has considered him for squiring"

News to me! Adam bows; inexpertly, but at least he tries.

"Well, Sir Vali always was a soft hearted man for the downtrodden" The Eiluned says "So, we place our wagers at a closer time to the date?"

"Verily" The Liaison of Rivervale replies "Things are winding down here so I must attend to a few more serious matters I fear. As , no doubt, must you"

Adam cuts a quick glance at the Sidhe who asked who he was, and who is not Nadeen.

He glances again at Lalaan, for it was she who was the sidhe who noticed he, you see? Though at first that might have been noticed quite clear-ly.

The crowd begins to break up, and Nadeen moves to talk to others... without LOOKING like she's trying to talk to them...

Vali mutters "love the hair.. want to conspire?" As Naden talks to another female noble

"Huh?" Adam looks away from Lalaan.

"Nothing.." Vali says with amusement

Soon, the meeting is over, and Vali says "Get ready to grab the door for her"

Adam hustles to do so. A Sidhe would glide and just end up there, but.....

As it is, he's not too clumsy, and Nadeen moves through the open door as if it opened magically...
