"She is a really pretty truck."

They start to sail past, and only then does the Twister turn, by chance, see it, and roar... but it is far far back. It starts to rush after.

"Frank... I think we can risk a speeding ticket"

"Let's go, girl, pedal to metal." And he suits action to words.

The Dawn Treader makes noise again, and roars taking advantage of her lead! The twister chases after.... a ghost to most mortal vehicles as it goes after the treader like a Kaiju after pesky human scientist

Frank starts looking ahead for an off ramp or other option, rifling through his memory. Where can I lead it away from others?

The Dawn Treader goes faster than a Semi Should be able too.

Frank gets an idea, it's risky, but chimera are vulnerable... and he knows a 'safety road' that has some rusty iron fences...

But does he want to put the treader and them near that?

He grits his teeth and makes for it. "Folks, this could get ugly."

As they race towards the safety road, Frank whips by ...and all of them feel..something chillling, like the shadow of death breathing heavy on your neck

Shiver.

He remains calm, and drives as carefully as he can.

Vali is chanting "I am a knight of the Good Handed Lord ,I am a son of the Guardian Dream. I am Frostbringer and Fellfoe, I am kin to the hornshield and beloved of the Chatalaine of secrets. I am Damsel to the Liar who is true to me" a mantra

And it sounds so..silly.... he's just a school teacher, the truck driver is just a driver breaking regs for some reason... and the girl? She's a foster kid who ...

"C'monnnnn... you can do this..."

the Twister hits the fencing they put betwen it.. and despite it's power, it's size..

it breaks apart as if it were fragile indeed

"Dame Dagmar of House Gwydion. Sir Vali of House Beaumayn. Sir Franklyn of House Liam." Frank repeats firmly.

The wind behind them stops howling. Defeated.

And they clear the danger... and who they are shines again

in fact, Dawn Treader ROARS again as if to help wake them up

"Frank. I See why you like this Rig. She's got fight"

Frank takes in a deep breath, nods. "She does. She's had to."

"Good girl....." he murmurs, petting the wheel again.

"Dagmar, you okay?" Vali asks

"Yeah?"

"Guess so.." He says as they move on.

Frank adapts to Nashville traffic by having little to do with it, hooking around. Once more, they have a lot less company on the road that he'd think is normal

Frank explains "On a solo run, I'd cook something in the Rig or just have a sandwich and stuff for meals, pull off and sleep here at a stop. With a crew this big, we should pull over."

"How much longer til we get there?"

"About three hours" Vali says

"You want to press through?"

"Tove packed snacks..."

"Break em out" Vali nods to her "And yeah, Frank, let's go on. I want distance right now between that 'safety' road"

Frank nods and drives on. "Vali, you and I have options. Dagmar, if you need a comfort stop, let me know. It's no trouble."

"Gotcha. " He nods

"Okay..." She distributes PB&Js.

"Thanks. This doesn't have pepper in it does it?" he might be joking

"No?"

"Tove doesn't like them, but I do."

He munches

"It's good, thanks"

Likewise, Frank bites into his although he'll ask someone to unwrap and help him manage.

Which Vali does

Frank does NOT ask Vali to feed him......

"She only uses grape." A note of approval.

"A Traditionalist." Amused.

"Or a purist" Vali says

"Nooooo, don't tell her that!"
