Zara has reason to be excited. , well, ahem, beyond having a rather ardent suitor the other night. It is a Friday the 13th, and a full moon tonight later at it's furthest! The potential for omens and probability bending magic is going to be amazing. Many would be afraid of working cantrips on the 'unlucky day', but Zara is braced by both kith and circumstance.

Zara, born on a thirteenth friday, yes...

She rushes through her breakfast, there is so much to do. Not just college, but preparation ...

Jacob pokes at his food, not because he doesn't like it, but because he can mold it into obscene shapes with his spoon

"You could use raisins for eyes..."

"ooo" And he does so, and then mannerly says "thanks."

Zara finishes her own breakfast, takes a last drink, and rises. Earl stands dutifully nearby, "You sure you want to find this Poughkeepsie Pocket today? For shopping?"

'Today is the day! Something will happen, it is in the air."

"Then I'll be there at college so we can go looking right after your last class" He promises, " Drive safely"

"Aye. Afternoon, then. Jacob, be good at school." She kisses the top of his head. "Miriam, I'm heading out!"

She might hear the nocker squawk something back wishing her well but only sluagh could make it out.

Through out the day, Zara feels rather jazzed. Its not a term that sluagh used 'jazzed' but it fits. Her senses tingle, there's almost a giddy euphoria.

Beatrice, in Lit, gets a shy smile. Which is an unusually bold gesture of friendship on Zara's part. She shows her copy of Walpole's Castle of Otranto and nods at the mortal girl's Vampyre.

Beatrice glances over, notices the look, but then at sight of the cover the smile is returned, and a light nod.

A nod back, and then back to her notes. What a successful exchange!

Indeed. Beatrice and she are positively as thick as thieves.. in silence during the class anyway

And more than... for sometime during the reading, just a bit of glamour oozes out of Beatrice

Zara collects the delicate tendril, lest it be wasted...

Oh my... a touch wicked these thoughts, of thick shadows and things watching from them.

Of such thing, sluagh worthy glamour is made.

Oh, Beatrice could be a fine friend, indeed!

The glamour does something else. Savoring it forces Zara to ken...and she realizes why she's been particularly giddy today. Oh, part of it iS the date... it's the 13th! But..someone at college, somewhere, is working magic

Ohhh... that is worth following. Besides, she has a break between classes!

She looks for the source and feels an odd pull .. not in one, but three different directions. One, she is sure, would lead to the hold, but what were the other two?

Indeed. What?

One thing she notices with ehr eyes, coincidences are abounding. Cars aren't starting more often. Coins keep coming down tails.

it looks like minor bad luck...

Well, it is the 13th.

Yes. One strand of magic reminds her..not of glamour, but of those willworkers she took on that quest with Siv.

Ohhhh

Obviously THAT is the one to follow...

Well, naturally, willworkers are dangerous, powerful, and often protective of their secrets. Why, they might as well put out a sign that says :Dear Zara, please spy on us'.

They bring it on themselves.

So following that, Zara makes her way towards the magic. Beyond the student union, a small building, there is... for a moment she loses interest, nothing important here surely, nothing to see. Turn around.

Ooo ooo a false mental impression!

Sneaky!

She defies it and goes ... the Powerhouse theatre? Nope. Further behind and in one of the green areas. There's a Gazebo!

And judging by the ivy ...

This place is ignored by almost everyone. It's a compulsion that works on 9 out 10 students.

And she realizes there are voices. She might want to move quietly

So she does - sluagh are good at that.

Sneak sneak, sharp ears...

Drums are played , not too loud thank goodness... where someone else is working patterns... and another voice says "OKay...good... keep it minor, we don't want to cause enough bad luck to actually hurt anyone.." There are four students her age. A rather eclectic bunch, working with a cauldron? Zara's ability to puzzle things out is much better than before. They're using the power of the 13th, or at least the cover of it, to draw a bit of good luck from everyone all over in order to store it up for later! By casting their net wide, they're getting a big pay out at low cost.

Two men, two women...calling quarters KINDA.

A wicked little grin and she watches them - waiting to hear names.

The girl dancing has long blonde hair and kind of a weird emo hippie mix with tattoos of flowers adorning her forearms. Her magic makes Zara want to sway like a serpent . The guy playing the Drums looks like he might be from a Caribean Island... Zara can almost feel the heartbeat of the world. Chanting is going from a young woman of possibly Middle eastern stock. Sh'es hte most formally dressed.A redheaded man has a celtic neo druic vibe, he's the one directing this energy into a cauldron.

She does not yet hear names

Of course... a little glamour, and she doesn't need them. Mortals, thinking to play with Da'an?

More than play, it seems to be working.. the cauldron pulses with good fortune gathering.

"A price for everything, reap what you sow..." A pluck on the thread - they might collect the good luck for later, but they will not be immune to their own effects.
