The Dairy Queen trip was wonderful....good times, and the whole post game experience winds down well.

The three of them head home.

Full of ice cream, tired, but content.

Twobit shoos around their legs...she needs OUT OUT OUT...

"THAT is a dog in need..."

"Odin! Oh Odin, where you at, Squinty?"

The sound of an emtpy food bowl being knocked from a shelf

"I'll get the dog" Jaymes says

"Bitchy bitchy..." she picks up the bowl and goes to fill it. "No respect."

"rrowrowrmrph" Odin says, pointing out that there is a contract, firmly implied, that he is NOT to starve!

"Oh, you aren't that hungry..." Ooo, a can! Wet food!

Oh helllo my beauty, my sweet can... "Meow" Oh yes, famine was imminent

"Yes, greedy guts..." She dishes out some Chicken Liver Delite and places the bowl back by the Siamese.

A delicate snif... then ...FACE PLANT and feed

Tove says "Oh good lord, you'd think it's been days"

"Right? I bet he meows at passerby, if we had any..."

"how did that much come oout of one little dog?" Jaymes says returning with Twobit who looks SO relieved

"She's pretty much all piss and vinegar, right? That's the saying?" She pets Odin as he munches.

"Right, fair point" Jaymes says/Tove gasps near the window

"Tove?"

"Poor thing..sorry, there's a bird... looks like it froze" She says

"What?"

And dagmar is already tromping outside.

"Dagmar, you..." but she's gone.

Outside, no coat, she hunts for the bird. She does, at least, wear a long-sleeved tee under her uniform tank (thanks Coach Gray!)

Yes, it's cold...

so when she sees this bird...

It's rather stiff, and on the ground.

"Oh..." She crouches and gently scoops up the bird in her hands.

Frozen..cold. It MIGHT be dead

It is also enchanted! A bit of glamou on it.. and a note!

A frown and a crease between her eyebrows. She checks the note while cupping the bird close to her chest - maybe her own body heat will help warm it?

The note reads : Help. I have been taken hostage by a crazy troll. I am trapped in his cabin in the pine barrens. He says he will protect me from 'the devil' but never lets me go. Never lets me out. I'm not even sure where in the barres we are! All I know it's it's a stick covered cabin of brown and green. I need to see the world again. Please. Signed , Alfreda

"JAYMES, TOVE?"

they're outside, And a jacket is thrown around her shoulders "You'll ctch your death" Tove says fussing

"There's a note. Do you think Kerri could fix the bird?" Distressed.

Jaymes looks down "Someone enchanted it and sent it out? Maybe near the balefire"

"Then we can find this Alfreda, right?"

The note gets a look, he raises a brow "Someonnee will investigate it.

"Someone who?"

"Depends on who is best qualified. " Jaymes says dubiously "Here, want to give me the bird and the note and I'll take it to the lodge"

She frowns. "Can I come too?"

'mm I suppose you'd be annoyed if I discouraged you"

"I mean, it's our responsibility now - we found the note."

"And the poor bird."

Jaymes grunts "Fine, let's both go and see if the Hearth is there"

Back to two hands cradling the bird. "Okay."
