"Am I going to be dragging the rest of this alone?" Vali says looking at the corpse

"So I'll be at the Lodge for now? There's room?"

"Could you, like, burn it?"

"For now you have to share a room at the lodge, but when we get a house, you get a room ,m with a window to sunlight and everything" Jaymes says then helps pick up the corpse, "And we could burn it, but some of this can be used."

"Used for what? Share with who?"

"Armor bits, tan hide, canvas" Vali says "But also for trying cantrips on to read who might have sent this, get more omens and such"

Jaymes nods "Each one is a clue"

"Right...." A brief damper on her enthusiasm. "Bug guy."

"Sorry ,kid, but you don't want us to lie about it right?" Jaymes says

"No. I don't."

"Then" They begin to carry the stuff to the lodge "about your room. You like any particular things? You don't strike me as the pink lace type of kid"

She wrinkles her nose. "Yeah. No pink. I dunno? Whatever."

"Well, we'll do what we can to get it right," He says "it's gona be your room after all. You need to keep it kind of cleanish, but other than that, I think you should have a say in what it looks like"

A wary look. "Yeah?"

"Did I stutter?" Raised brow

She quiets, and shakes her head. "No. Sorry."

"No need to apologize," He says "Just letting you know I mean it." A pause "I reserve the right to cringe if it's really awful"

"Really, though. Whatever is fine."

"I know, I know, Low bar" Jaymes says

"Boy band posters it is" Vali chimes

"Not helping ,Vali" Jaymes mutters as they move on
