The Dogs bark loudly as Frank is settingling for a cup of tea

He looks up, on instant alert. "What is it, Oak?"

OOC: Coffee. Sorry

BIC: Low growly grumble.

A knock at the door

Frank is up, moving to the door. He motions the dogs to heel, and picks up a stout length of wood from near the door. He opens it carefully.

Bertrand looks up, "Sir? I'm sorry to intrude, but do you have a moment?"

Frank looks down at the little nocker, and nods. "Of course. Please come in." Frank moves aside so he can come in, glancing around outside as he does.

No one else seems out there.

The nocker is carrying what looks like a broken wooden badger? Monty python jokes aside, the boy looks serious and concerned. OAK keeps an eye on him.

Frank shuts the door. "Anything to eat or drink?"

"No sir. I.. uhm.. appreciate the offer. But I should ask a few things. You have anyone who can heather balm this back?" A deep breath "And, is one of you in particular looking out for Dagmar?"

The Mountain takes the broken pieces gently. "Hm. Well, I suspect the Chieftess can. As for Dagmar, we all look out for her. I like to take a special interest. Why?"

"Because she's in a real bad place, sir." He answers "I dont' mean geographically. Zane and her got into a tear, not a fight... or she would have punched im through a tree... but instead she cracked this.. and both said mean things.. and I think Zane was right but he also pressed and ...well furk sir. Neither would listen to me when I tried to..well, nockers ain't good peacemakers. Anyway, she looked like three shades of shit in four different seasons"

Frank sighs and nods. "Right. Hm. Wait here." He goes into the kitchen and returns shortly with a bag before poking his feet into the boots by the door. He grabs a coat from the pegs and tucks the bag into a pocket.

"Where is she?"

"don't know" He says "She was near that old stump where Tove's taken to playing, but turned her back to this general direction and went off. Happened not 15 minutes ago I would guess. but I figured I should tell you right away. I... I'm gonna get a rep as a tattle tale for this." A sigh

"Nope. I've decided to go on patrol, and a dog walk. Oak, Edy, come on, walkies." The dogs perk up and bound over, dancing at the door.

"Sir? Fixing this is important. things.. aren't just things when people make it not so. " He says holding up the damaged badger.

Frank smiles gently and takes it so carefully. "I'll take good care of it, and I'll be the Chieftess can fix it." He soothes.

"Thank you, Sir. I think.. I think she scares herself. But don't tell her I said so."

"Well, the early days can be scary. We'll see her through. You ok to get home, or would you like to wait and rest here?"

"I best go, sir." He says a bit uncomfortable, "Sylvi's forgiven me for our misunderstanding, but her parents are still.. uhm..well, " He shrugs

Blushing he makes his way out himself.

".... old enough to be patient, angry enough to be inventive, and willing to wait for Samhain? Yeah."

With a sigh, he heads out. "Ok, guys. Oak, Edy... find Dagmar. Gently."

"Huh?" COnfused at part of that. But he heads out and gone.

the Dogs are fae hounds, smarter than mortal dogs, and they have not been pampered pets (Frank's moments of softheartedness not with standing) they know Dag. They know her scent, and they know what the Mountain wants.

She's not hard to track. No woods-ranger here - the signs are obvious enough, and a neon path to a keen hunter. Disrupted leaves, snapped twigs - a retreat in haste, not stealth.

Frank and the puppies amble.

The teenager is curled up at the base of a tree, back to Frank and co, her head buried in her arms. The halberd lies abandoned on the carpet of pine needles, a few yards away.

Oak sees the weapon, thinks about it, and fetches it. It's heavy, but he's a big dog.

And he sets it down with a clunk at her feet, then wags. Treat time.

"hu-what?" She looks up, confused and blurry-eyed.

A wagging

Frank stays back a-ways, inspecting the trail for repair needs after winter.

Dagmar clumsily scrambles to her feet while dragging her sleeve over her tear-stained face.

Edelweiss sighs at her brother's pathtic display and instead moves towards dagmar's side and sits, looking up at her with big eyes

A cough and she stands straight... but looks anywhere BUT at Frank.

"Mmm...' A low rumble. "Yeah, going to need to get out here with some railroad ties and a maddox. I thought we might get another season out of it but.... better safe than sorry."

Silent and still, hands behind her back.

A cold nose on the girl's hand from the slightly smaller Edelwiess. She's the 'dainty' one.

Frank stands, dusting off his hands, and begins to peer up into the trees.

A small startle, and she pulls a step away from the dog.

Granted, the sun's going down, but still....

Edelwiess holds still
