She draws her hand back, abrupt and wary. "What's the catch?"

"You'll have to help me with this rent and utility advice. " A look left and right "Look, neither I or my father are good at mortal systems like finances and such. It's abit banal, but we need to do it. But I don't like going all the time to Rivervale with my hat in my had, you know? So I learn a bit from you, then catch up more on my own, and they're none the wiser . I Know I COULD go to them ,but..well, you know how it is?"

"I don't know that much about it. Section 8 is when you don't have enough money and the government helps. But you don't want that. Those neighborhoods tend to be pretty rough."

She smirks, "I'm a troll too remember? not as strong as you but I can break an arm."

"Tell you what, any idea where I can learn more about then? There's a badger in it for you"

"Why does everybody say that? Do I look different?"

"Um. Library, probably. The one downtown has a computer lab, too, and a resource center...."

"You look fine" She assures. "Okay, thanks. I'll try that resource center.' She has left the badger in the girl's hands, "See you around I Hope?"

"Um..." She's holding the badger carefully, afraid of breaking it. "I guess. As long as I'm in town."

"Thanks." She says, and grabs her instrument and heads off.

"...thanks." An echo.

A wistful sigh from a tree now that Tove is gone

"you ought to be ashamed" A whisper to whoever sighed

"So not" another whisper back

Dag looks around.

Dag stalks closer and sees Zane, and some swirly faced guy whose clothes look like a lava lamp

Both about her age.

The latter is a kith she's not seen before.

"HEY." A stomp and a glare. "Were you two watching?"

Satyrs are emotional creatures. Fear of dying is an emotion "Eeep! I mean.. no I.."

the Nocker twissts his cap and says "Sorry, ma'am, but we were. Well, more listening to her music, least that's what Zane says. He's got a crush on Miss Tove . You know how it is."

The fact that Zane is in his early teens while 'miss Tove' is in her late kind of indicates this will never happen.

She puffs out her chest, halberd planted in the dirt. "Shouldn't spy on people." The hand with the badger is held awkwardly - nowhere to place it, afraid to close a fist ont he delicate carving.

"Not spying, Admiring from afar..." Zane defends.

"Not afar enough" Betrand says then adds "Yes, I tried telling him that. I'm Bertrand by the way.'

"....Dagmar."

"Well, Miss Dagmar, nice to meet you, wish it were under better circumstances."

"Dagmar is new" Zane explains "Went woosh right in our school. Blam, Dream dance."

A snort. "Not much of a dance."

"Yeah, I think that's just the poetic way to make it sound easier than it is," Bert nods, "Dream storm might be better. " The nocker glances at the halberd, "Huh, that came with you? Looks to be solid design. Of course ,my specialty is glass, not steel."

"Yeah. It's mine."

"Glass... hey! You should meet Colton! He has this awesome glass arm!"

"I know" Bert stands up straight and looks proud "I made it."

Zane chuckles, "Careful, he might go on for hours about it if you let him."

"Oh, cool. It's cool."

"Thanks" Bert smiles with eel like needle teeth "Was a real challenge, see, it has to work in both mortal and fae circles... anda lot of folks helped provide the resources, but mostly it had to become a part of him, that's the real worlk, you see? I tooksome of his own sweat and a wee bit of blood in the mixing from him to get the admixture just right for the attunement. There's a recursive psyschematic involved and...."

Zane , a bright guy, still looks ready to nod off as the nocker goes on about the blending of glass and making of the arm.

....slow blink.

"... and that's why I had to also take the then current factors of star drift into account as well, glass is very sensitive to vibration and the song of the spheres may sound like a metaphor..." He goes on...

Yup. Zane is leaning against a tree now.

"Are you a goblin?"

"Goblins do tech."

"Go..go.." there's a spuuttering, and it looks like she's got him mad, "Goblins SCREW tech. The furkers don't know how to make anything that don't destroy! Slaphdash drek with a road warrior fetish at best, no art, no artistry! No craft! And it don't deliver the goods in the end either! Them Thallian somebitches can't.."

Zane puts a hand on Bert, "Easy bert, easy. Let's not forget 'goblin town' confuses things. Right?" And he says to Dagmar, "Goblins are Thallian, evil guys."

"So what are you?"

"I'm a Nocker, o course! Best crafters in the fae! Oh the Boggans get simple things done fast, and the Dougal maybe the only sidhee House that has a chance... and plenty of kithain try their hands...but Nockers are the dreams of craft and science and reaching for perfection! Why, we helped muse the space program!" Bert insists

"Lots of debate on that one," Zane mutters

"You're weird looking. Do the spirals mean something? Are they tattoos?"

"Not any more than blue skin" he says

"Yeah, blue's pretty weird, too. And horns."
