Jacob is bored. Maybe his sister's room will be entertaining.

He has snuck in, and squirms through the area behind the book case.

Zara's room has a sign on the door, in elegant script "Little Brothers KEEP OUT."

Vague he thinks Could mean anything

Of course, her treasures are not all here... she is home for the week, not forever.

YEs, we squirm and learn what we can. Sides, this isn't really her room is it? She's living at Poughkeepsie upstairs . She can't block TWO areas from him? that's.. that's greedy.

The dust bunnies meep in protest. Intruder!

"shhh.." And he sprinkles some yummy yummy dust from his pocket. Bribery

"MEEP."

"Shhh.. it's my duty " he whispers "Use that to build up ,but quiet like. there's stuff here i haven't seen"

Indeed - this room has many childhood treasures. Dolls and books and acorn caps and pens....

He sneaks closer to the dolls.

Most are old - garage sale finds, antiques... there are a few barbies, but they have been dressed in crocheted lace or improvised dresses from napkins and scrap fabric, their blonde hair turned black with sharpies.

"this one looks like mom" he ponders

Indeed, it is very debbie gibson-esque.

He tips his cap respectful like

Zara has an AWFUL lot of pens.

He takes one, and then an idea. A piece of paper and he doodles "Passover Bunny, your magic of Spring, bring mom a gushy love that won't treat her mean. Passover Bunny, you silly little thing. I find this kissy stuff stupid, but I want her happy still. So Passover Bunny, if you will." And he constructs a little hat and heart pillow for the Miriam doll and casts fair fortune

...Miriam would plotz.

...if she knew, of course.

And suddenly he realizes that magic has a price. And he can think of nothing else he could give up that might mean more to Da'an than.. behaving himself and not touching anything else over pass over. He doesn't understand the HOWS and WHYS of magic like his sister does. She's very witchy after all. But he's sure that a balance of some sort is demanded. He shall... he sighs, pay the price.. and do that hardest thing. He will... be good

and so he slips out, hoping G_d and the Da'an appreciate that he's behaving... well NOW he's behaving.
