Zara slept like a baby, and not the cries every three hours kind.

And, on the top of a roof, a troll stands precariously... hoping her shoes are enchanted properly so not to be heard.

"shhh" the Clurichaun whispers... "This has to work, Mara said it would." What the Clurichaun has looks like a toilet snake, all coils and the like.

And she begins to put it down the chimney

The idea of a bendible flexible telescope is indeed, supergenius...

too bad it doesn't really bypass the wards

Something at the celing/roof of the house goes BUMP!

and those with superior senses (not naming names) might hear "shit shit shit... " "i got you hold on" And sounds as something heavy lands in soft bushes.

Zara opens her shutters, looking out to see just what landed in Hannah's Hydrangeas.

Someone is chicaneried so she won't pay attention or focus! Why if she weren't a sluagh it might even work...

She narrows her dark eyes and hisses. "LEAVE!"

The two figures races off... they appear to be wearing ninja outfits, like one might for halloween

She rolls her eyes and closes the shutters.

Her sluagh seneses allow her to determine... well, not as much as she'd like thanks to those outfits... but ..they might be either old childlings, young wilders...

she does hear "Does that count as her catching us?"

"No she doesn't know who we are..."

"But she saw us I think... doesn't seem honest not to..."

"Stop being seelie about this, geeeszz... we get another chance..."

and ...then they really do get out of ear shot

She checks her mirror, quick casting to follow the two strangers...

And their continued escape plays out on the silvered glass.

Oh easily done. Sweet springlings have no idea

Olgi pulls off her mask now that they are a WHOLE block away

Clearly this girl is a troll, "I think we left the snake up on the roof... we should go back and ask for it."

"No, no," The Clurichain says "We were told only if she CAUGHT us, she didn't really catch us. Even if she saw us.." Ruby's mask comes off "It's not like she's seen us yet."

"Aint' honest" Olgi says a bit stubborn, "We should hand over the letter."

"And fail in our first quest for witchfinding?"

An eyebrow.

"I think we did just fail, we're just honesting up about it" Olgi says

"Olgi," Ruby says "Do you WANT to go back to Winter Squash?"

"Or.." Ruby says "Do you want to be make your Chief proud?"

Olgi gets caught up and squares her jaw "I want to make the Chief proud."

"Then let's get a new plan to find the witch. If we can spy on her without her catching us... we win"

Ruby nods

A sigh. Well, she's warded herself against scrying before...

"Okay... our next plan.." The Clurichaun says "A distraction! We get some fireworks..."

"What if that starts a fire?" Olgi says worried, all brow

"This isn't California, will you relax?" Claurichaun excitement "Now... let's go get some fireworks, should be cheap after the new year"

Oh good god. They're going to set off roman candles or something as a distraction?

The two ninjas' head to a backpack they have stored away behind a she shed... and change

Yup. Definitely soon to be wilders.

"...if you cause a fire, would you truly wish to face the Count?" A whisper behind them.

The girls nearly slam into each other as Olgi moves to Shield Ruby, and Ruby lunges forward to defend Olgi! the result is slightly comical, but bespeaks of deep friendship

A soft raspy sound... not a laugh, but reminiscent.

"I think," Olgi's brow knits "this counts as us getting caught."

A groan from the Claurichaun.

"Quite a ways from Iowa, nu?" There's the voice.. but where is the sluagh?

"I don't know what you're talkin-" Ruby starts to say.

"Yes." Olgi nods honestly.
