Earl finds himself outside of Zara's bedroom, and he tries not to pace. Insecurities, insecurities rise. He pushes them down. he loves Zara, she loves him. And he's not some scared weirdo living at a farm that doesn't appreciate him.

He's a grown man, an adult, and it's time to act like it. So... he trusts.

A deep breath. Has it been ten minutes?

Zara already made tea. Perhaps food is needed? he should at least be useful

He heads down stairs.

A fine moldy bit of cake for Zara, prepared by Hannah herself. A touch of arsenic for August? No, he tells himself, don't even joke to yourself like that

A slice of cake, chocolate and fresh for August. And one for himself. He thanks Hannah and heads up.

And up stairs he goes with the three small plates.

He approaches the door, yes, it's been more than ten minutes. Way more. But they might need more time. well so be it. Knock and ask
